DSLR luggage

Currently when we head off on a trip we take the following luggage - The 2 standard saddle bags and a school/work backpack bungeed to the sissy bar.

We have enough capacity to take most everything we need for a few days, but have never been able to bring along the DSLR camera, which would be kinda great.

What are our options? I'm thinking maybe a backpack style camera bag to replace the work bag, but that would most likely make a bit of a dent in what else can be carried in that spot. Usually when traveling around we like to go somewhere half decent for dinner at least once, and so require room for some decent shoes and a tidy set of clothes.

After writing all of this I'm thinking a tank bag and the camera back-pack, but it's starting to sound like a pack mule.

Suggestions (that don't require a full sized aussie station wagon) please?

Thanks BD, It appears to me that you must carry some pretty good camera gear around on bikes with you, unless you have an assistant in a cage for your photoshoots?

Pelican gear is definately the shit, I'm thinking about the camera body and a couple of lenses, it doesn't appear to be that motorcycle friendly to me. Is it what you use?

Yep - I use the second link in a back pack or mounted on the bike somehow. There are several options there. Happy to go ADV riding up rivers with it. Waterproof and reasonably indestructible.

Co-pilot sits on the back of the bike.
