Yeah not like the Stelvio with a blimming 180 rear, stupid decision that one.

Big Dave

Quoting the publisher re tyres.

I still had a phat time on Stelv as an 'all-roads' bike. Multistrudle, my Buell and 1050 Tigger are the same. Good gravel and crap seal they work fine. Gonzo when it's wet.

Stelv has very impressive road handling too. I don't know how much that would be compromised by a 160 that would at least allow trail wings and distanzias

Thirty nine grand for a GSA?
I suppose you do get a three-dimensional "GS" stamp on the seat...

Nobody proofreads KR........

Eddieb
18th May 2010, 20:11
The 'source' note at the bottom of the page indicates the article may have been sucked off a feed from somewhere else, so possibly not anyone at KR's fault. It was probably all automated.

Which error was it you spotted, the many missing spaces between words, the reference to the F800 as an 850, or the many references to GS's as being enduro machines, high performance or sporty? ;)

I have just changed my "win lottery bike" list - the 30th GS F800GS is on - but I would have to change the seat!

Automatic Stability Control - at last,a bike I can stop on without having to put my feet down! It's taken a long time, but finally BMW have made a bike for the shortarse.

TYRE PRESSURE CONTROLWot? it drops the TKC80s to 16psi when you hit gravel, then automagically ups them to 36 when you hit the tar again?

CHROMED EXHAUST PIPEThat'll get all the Harley fans hot in the crotch

ON-BOARD COMPUTERI sit in front of a computer all day & ride bikes to get away from the damn things.

ADDITIONAL FOG LIGHTWhat was wrong with the first one? Also, in NZ bikes are only allowed 1 fog light

OFF-ROAD TIRESSo not TKC80s then?!

:Punk: Motu's on to it.

Yea - it's just a release off the news wires. I'll have another look.
Lynda proof reads the mag - the site is mainly blogs and it's easy to miss them when self-posting.

'Eloxy' is all I can spot on a scan just now - perhaps should be epoxy - but it's done twice and I don't know better to change it.

Big Dave

Col - On the sports models the pressure control is by blue tooth to the vales for letting air out if it's spinning up.

I wanna a seat with "a three-dimensional "GS" stamp in the side flanks"...

Just the seat - someone else can have the bike.

So if you want the seat and not the bike - and I want the bike and not the seat, do you want to go halfsies? - I will even pay the freight to get the seat up to you

Googling 'Eloxy' doesn't yield any definitive answers other than it's probably correct.

It was not a spelling error like I did on purpose. It was a factual error re abs

"At the same time the new R 100 GS was the world's first enduro to feature ABS - a superior safety feature now to be found on all BMW motorcycles, with the exception of the BMW G 450 X."

I think they meant R1100GS as i ant seen a R100GS with ABS
sorry for being a pedantic wanker but I live with-in 15km of my hero.
