Haha, yep, who would have picked Hayden having a very healthy points lead over Stoner after 3 rounds.......or Dovisioso leading Pedrosa.....and Lorenzo opening a gap on Rossi. It's an interesting season!

'Rolling Stoner' qualifies well and is no doubt fast, but seems to ride on the edge and he is suffering for it. I'm not a fan.
Jorge was always the danger man to Rossi, who might just be more injured than we know ?
I thought the commentary was poor as usual and the race a bit boring.

I'm still a Stoner fan...but his season is over! What's wrong with riding on the edge though Gazza? Bet you used to be a Kevin S fan back int he day!! Changing of the guard over at Yamaha eh??

Dunno about Rossi's injury, I guess it's certainly possible it's still an issue for him, you could see he seriously lacking pace right through out each corner. Will be interesting to see if this trend continues at Mugello.
Stoner was having the serious head in hands moments, throwing away serious points!
Lorenzo absolutely supreme and on top of his game, very emphatic victory, well done.
Divo's last lap was a good un and he rode a well judged race and the same goes for Hayden too, well done both those two.
Pedrosa must be pissed.
The Tech 3 boyz must be disappointed in general.
Tyres seem to be an issue more than usual and given it was much hotter than they were expecting it's not too surprising.
Rossi can't be too disappointed with still decent points but he's gonna have to pick it up a bit if he expects to win the championship this year but still ofcourse early early days.
Bring on Mugello...

Yeah I bet Rossi is pissed but it has to happen some time. New guard ? bit early yet.
Riding on the edge is just fine, trouble is he's popping over the other side. He has the speed, just doesn't seem to feel whats going on and that time it wasn't the front either was it ?

Both he and Ducati say he lost the front again...but it sure looked to me like the back end let go!

I had hoped to be back at Mugello this year but that's not happening. I'm wondering whether the Yamahas will have extra HP,(they have asked) they'll need it there? Hondas might just do well. G.

I thought it looked like the front went a bit but came back and then the rear overtook him.
Cruel season for a lot of people so far.
I wonder if Lorenzo's got the maturity to hold it together as the pressure builds over the season? Because Rossi's still collecting good points. Still Lorenzo's beating Rossi on the same bike... :not:

A dnf or two this season will be decisive. If Lorenzo doesn't keep getting points every race Rossi will take the title. Rossi is smart. And fast. I hope Rossi can bring it home this season. I wonder if it will be the last season. I know he said he is chasing the stats now. But that may not be enough motivation.

No idea! But I'm still pretty confident that Spies will whip his ass and win me a case of Steinie! Could well be Colins last year in Moto-GP though at that rate.

He's looking good huh ? Seemed very calm in the after race interview and he's getting up to similar antics to Rossi post race. I like his chances, might be a close one. G.

There's definitely been progress hasn't there :- first year fast as fook and then those fearsome highsides, second year fast as fook and a few silly crashes, this year... fast as fook.
Are you watching the Beeb or Eurosport?
Apparently Julian Ryder's reporting that Casey lost the front, held it up on his knee and elbow and then lost everything. So it's another front end problem for the Duc. That's got to be getting frustrating.
Obs:
Lorenzo is truly a class act although the smart money (= beer) is on Rossi for the title as he is still the points collecting daddy out there. No changing of the guard at Yamaha yet, but maybe at Honda with Dovi getting his season headed in the right direction. Seems to cope better than most with dodgy tyres (was the often best michelin runner in their last year). Pedrosa crumbled pretty badly on the last lap - fast by himself but a bit fragile to be a great racer? Stoner is having a mid-career crisis although all that head in hands pouting is a little over the top aye?

Gotta agree as Rossi mentioned it in post practise briefing...I thought wtf at the time coz he sounded beat already and he was on pole.
Finally got a chance to watch Moto2 and apart from all the crashes I thought it was the crappest race of the day.

Did Pedrosa succumb to the pressure on the last lap? That running wide to let Hayden through was stupid, considering how tight he'd been riding to try and keep Dovizioso out.
Once he was past, Dani seemed to go all to pieces!

Waaaaay too early to be writing off Rossi. Only he will know how badly the injury will be affecting him and he might just be quietly happy to have racked up 2nd place points and to have what has been his main challenger from past seasons out of the picture.
Make no mistake, while Lorenzo is quick and a serious challenger he has not had the simply untouchable pace Stoner has shown in the past. Rossi is gonna be close to Lorenzo on any given day but Stoner has regularly smoked everyone and Rossi will be happy to have him off the radar.
Was interesting hearing Steve Brouggy from the California Superbike School analysing Stoners style vs Rossi last year, and his theory for Stoners front end crashes. It's microscopic but he sees Rossi as turning slightly later and harder earlier in the corner whereas Stoner turns fractionally earlier and therefore stresses the front a smidge more later in the turn. It would be interesting to overlap the telemetry.

Its plowing the asphalt...apparently in a couple of Off's he could have continued but for busted clip ons...
Yes I miss those battles...Rossi and Lorenzo are good to watch but being on the same team....well its just not the same.

Big call - It would take more than a couple of races to "totally demoralise" a rider of Rossi's calibre - He is the GOAT man.

All Lorenzo's antic's must be messing with Rossi's head. Rossi use to be the only rider doing that stuff and people loved him for it. Now his team mate is passing him, winning races and winning fans with his crazy behaviour. (jumping in that pond with leathers and hemlet was way over the top).
Rossi is smart and won't give up, BUT it must be hard watching Lorenzo get all the attention.

Yea I hear what your saying and agree that it must be hard to see the team mate beat you twice in a row, but back to my point - its only 2 races ( all be it, in a row) but still there is a long way to go in the championship and it is hardly time to panic. After last season it doesn't take a brain surgeon to see that Lorenzo is going to be a significant, if not the most significant threat to Rossi being able to retain his crown. Lorenzo has appeared to really matured in the last year and is going to be hard to beat this year. There is only something like 9 points in the chase between 1st and 2nd.
I'm just amped that Nicky Hayden is cracking it into the top 5 on the Ducati. Its gonna be a cracker season - Hopefully casey can sort his shit out and mix it up between those M1's.

Oh, I don't think Rossi is that easily demoralized, 9 World championships 104 wins (in all classes) - that takes a LOT of mental toughness - every champs reign has to end some time, but I don't think Rossi is going to succumb to any mind games. Plus when its as close as this year has started out sometimes even a tiny bit of "luck" (of either flavour) can make a difference.
I enjoyed watching the race.
While I'd like Rossi to win ( 10 times world champ has a nice ring to it ) if Lorenzo takes the title he probably deserves it, and if he doesn't there is always next year. Rossi doesn't have as many "next" years. Bring it on !!!

Got to concur totally with that. They are both characters to the nth degree and its a fascinating battle. Got to admit to having always been a Yamaha fan as well.
Why Tony Elias has not got a prime MotoGP ride is beyond me though, he is more deserving of a top ride than some of the other regulars. I hope he takes the Moto2 title, he deserves it.

Unlike Edwards....Elias has at least won a Moto GP race! Brilliant race it was too!!!

He may be worried about what Honda was going to pay him if he doesn't manage to finish a few races soon...it may be :bye:
