STILL FOR SALE 21st June: Price reduced - this has to sell. Initial price was $4250, then $3950, then $3750. Now, it is $3500. That's a lot of bike for the money! He paid $5500 for it six months ago. If it gets much cheaper I'll be unable to resist it myself! Anyone want a road legal 1982 DR500 !!! Need cash to buy FZR!!!

This is my friend's bike and he asked me to try to sell it for him (he doesn't know about this site or TM). He has only had it a few months but now needs some $$$ (don't we all). It has a bit of gravel rash where he fell off in a carpark, and it needs a new chain. You can see more pics on TM. Rego and WoF until July - new WoF should not be an issue.

Would give discount to KBers. PM me if interested.

Make it clear in the auction that they will be dealing with the owner for the sale, so people do'nt think it's dodgy, especially after that episode of Target not so long ago.

Not sure what you mean by Target. Anyway, my friend has left it at my place and asked me to sell it for him. He is not a native English speaker etc. so I am just helping him out. The paperwork has his name on it, he paid for it in full when he bought it so no money owing etc. If anyone wants to meet him - no problem. Bike has Rego and WOF. That's it really.

I think that's a bit over the top. Anyway, what happened in Target?

Over the top to mention that the owner will be handling the sale?!

Well, call me suspicious, but I would'nt be buying a vehicle off an owners "mate".

Yes, with you now, and realise what Target episode you are refering to..... Good point!

I think that's a bit over the top. Anyway, what happened in Target?

A person sold a vehicle that they had been loaned while the owner was overseas. The unlawful seller then buggered off overseas and when the owner returned they got the car back and the buyer was out of pocket.

Of course, there's always the fact that you can change the registered owner to your own name without proving you actually own it and very few people realise that registered owner has no legal standing with regards ownership.

There is in fact no way to prove you own a motorvehicle in NZ. How fucked up is that?

I see what you mean about the extra $500 for the Thunderace. But if you are looking, make an offer. You never know, you might get lucky as my friend has to sell this soon. And you lot do seem to be overly suspicious. Nothing dodgy going on here. My mate doesn't speak English very well, he is Japanese.

I wouldn't say I was overly suspicious...... just that if I was going to view the bike, I would want to see the registered owner face to face, and I would also like to see it hasn't reciently changed hands.... Just a few things to check......

The Alarm Bells ring, when you say "He has only had it a few months".

I see. Well, if you were to come take a look, I could call him to come around at the same time. If you must know, he has suddenly got engaged, combined with no job as of last Friday 28th, and so he has to sell it. He does not want to sell it.

This bike is still up for grabs. Not interested? I can't believe someone would pass on this to buy (and spend double) on a 250cc peewee ...

because some people HAVE to get a 250 for licence reasons, and a 20 year old superbike (of its time) is just not that attractive any more?
