Am I missing something (like a brain perhaps) but my post count has been stuck on the same number for a few days even though I have been posting. Anyone hazard a guess why?

I don't see any problem. You have made 136 posts of which 97 are motorcycle related. It is only the motorcycle related posts that add to your post count.
