i have a triumph chopper 1965 thunderbird hardtail frame 76 tiger 100 excessories 750 bonnie motor springer seat springer front end drum brakes its on trademe 290518061 any help appreciated:

First off you'll need to get a brake declaration for your bike from the local bike shop (or similar). Then take it to VINZ for them to look over

If it was registered in NZ previously, and has a valid reason for dereg, its a piece of piss. It's the insurance writeoffs that can be a nightmare. As above, just take it in there and talk to them.

Technically for that you'llneed a low volume cert. Hard tail is a mod on a 65, change in engine power . But, that old (assuming you register it as a 65) you don't need a brake cert.
It'll need a front guard for a start,and a noise test looking at those pipes.Also the headlamp looks to be mounted on the front legs of the springer,I don't think they will allow that.Otherwise it's a nice looking bike.

The rego plate and papers are for a 76 750. But they won't match the frame number. I suspect it'll need to be rego'd as a custombuilt. No big deal since the hard tail will need certing anyway. There's a guy called Alex, Frosty can give you his number if you PM him, he (Alex) does bike ceretification and vinning. Is very helpful apparently.
The ehadlight might be OK, some of the vintage girder forks, the headlamp was mounted like that. Can't recall anything specifically forbidding it. Some old sports cars (Morgan ?) had sliding pillar front suspension with the lights mounted on the suspension - only issue is the bounce up and down !
