Didn't look like the guy getting chased did anything unsafe.

cop was a dick - could easily have pulled him for 90mph. i'd be well pissed off if that was me - the rider slowed to 55 (i presume to let the cop pass) and then rightfully caned off.....

'Rightfully'?????

For an ex-cop you've sure got some fucked up ideas.

Yeah was my thinking too - if he was unsafe why didn't he put on the disco lights.....?

lol well for the length of time the dude was doing 140mph I am surprised the cop did the same speed.. dangerous in both aspects...

sporting is letting the dude hit a tree off his own stupidity, sigh..

cop was a dick -

They usually are; however in this case I'd say job well done.

imho, he was a dick for letting him go that long, especially after the rider had slowed to 55 - perfect time to get his rego, and pull him over in a safe manner. if i had have been doing 100mph, and been followed by someone shadowing me, then slowed down (for whatever reason) and the shadow refused to pass, i would have taken off too.

and katman, i don't give a fuck what you think. once upon a time i would have been offended by your comments, but i drew my sphere of concern in tightly many years ago

i agree.
the cop shoulda stopped him at the start
looks like the cop was just gettin his jollies
entrapment?

Yip, he had ample time to pull the guy over after the first 100mph stint. Say the guy crashed after that and killed someone, surely there'd have to be some culpability put on the cop for not acting sooner, when he could have prevented something from happening?
I suppose that's the question... Where is the line between law enforcement and him going on a joyride, in the name of law enforcement.

The police officer should have ended that long ago. He and the rider were putting their and others lives at risk by letting that ride continue for long as it did.

These are undercover bikes, not full on cop bikes. No disco's, no sirens, just a camera.
They dont pull anyone over. They just record what people do and knock on their doors later.

Ban sports bikes, end of story.Nup, then you'll have to define sportsbike... eventually people will tune up Harleys too, so you might as well ban them all from the get go.

Well seeing as Harley's are easy to define, I'm keen to start the ban right there. The accountants and doctors will find something else to ride.

Interesting video. If that was filmed in NZ, all of the cars would be sitting in the right hand lane...

Kent Police see, not the sharpest of the thin blue line in Blighty.

The more advanced ones have digital watches these days.

Still, worse if it was Essex coppers, they have been known to arrest discarded kebabs for loitering

It's actually about 75hp and 320kg, but you're not far off.

Guys will even race geckos and mice and crap like that... hell when we go for a ride we have a stop at this little bay, and we race boats made from 250ml cans!

Correct. I used to work with this Swiss dude who relayed stories of him and his mates hotting up scooters (ffs) in Switzerland coz big bikes were horrendously expensive to own. He reckoned a good, hot scooter would massacre an HD anyway. Even though he said that I didn't punch him, he was an ok sort.

Okay, I'm about to ignite this one...

Rider looked to be riding pretty safely, good clean lines, was respectful to cars in the right lane, pullled over when he thought the bike behind wanted to overtake... Roads were good, visibility was good, he wasn't riding like a retard...

As for arresting kebabs for loitering - the last cop who ticketed me read me the riot act, ticketed me - and then the cheek - proceeded to explain (for about 10 minutes) why the stock GSXR1000 that he had in the UK would decimate mine on the road... Clearly, logic isn't a required course during popo training...
