I'm going to give it a crack in one of the novice classes, a few mates will be in the inter / pros.
Question though, I'm on a CRF250R, do I enter "Nov 0-200 to 250 4 stroke" or "Nov 250 to open" or is it just my choice between the two?

Hey Mate, good that your coming along. If your doing novice then you will be Nov 0-200 to 250 4 stroke. Come and pit with me and PC.
Hey Nick, yeah Tom and I will be in the pits with you and Paul. What time are you thinking of getting there? We're thinking get there about 8:30am.

I think you shpould do this one oldguy. You would like it. The tracks faster than the one you done the other week. Bring your helmet cam if you come.
Just got told they may have taken out the jumps, has any one heard any thing?

Hey mate, you can definitely ride what ever you bring :) its got some nice long straights, so all the better to make use of your taller gearing haha.
Yea I had heard that the jumps were taken out but I know someone that spoke to him last night and I think the idea is that no new man made jumps will be added so the ones that are there will remain, hope so :).

You gonna go mate?? Trouble is the 0-200 class has all the fast wiz bang youngsters in and the Vets has the guys with huge experiance and speed. But I'd say the vets would be a safer bet? Maybe novice?? I'm not sure??
Whats the track like guys I've never raced (not even the mr moto fun days just gone by) is it intense with heaps of jumps like Ardmore where a slow guy can be a bit of a danger or is it a bit more open???
I've been to their web site and got all the info but there is none on start times and sign on etc. so what time does it kick off etc??
How long are the races 10 or 20mins???
How many practices/races do you get??
Their website doesn't list all details but from what I've been told it's a little step up from Mr Motorcycles paddock racing but nothing like the Ardmore track. Hopefully it doesn't have quite the same turn out as Te Kohonga so we can get a few more runs.
I've entered Nov 0-200 to 250 4 Stroke, don't let the stickers fool you - I'm still learning. Only one way to learn though isn't there!

That tracks not hardcore, rolling farm land sort of thing and they have a huge range of abilities giving it a go. They used to have an enduro class. If you liked the mr motocylcle races you will like this.

Hey Mate,
The track is awesome !! very much rolling farm land with a couple of jumps thrown in, nothing knarly though. From memory the races are 10 mins so you get about five laps ( with is enough believe me :) ). They usually run a practice ( 2 - 3 laps ) first up and break up the groups by Juniors, 125/ 250f, 250/ 450f. then the first heats with which ever class you have entered. Generally there is 3 heats with the second heat being your points race which go towards the series standing.
If you want to have a look round the track before you ride then I would say get there round 8 to be safe.

cheers nicardy for taking the time to post the get there time up!
I'm toying with the idea of doing to T100, so going out the sandpit to see if I can ride for 3+ hours at speed so might be to knackered??
But sounds like this is exactly the sort of event I need to go to for my first MX event! cheers!

enter more than one class rick to make it a good day, heaps of sitting around if ya do the one class, tracks real natual terrain with half a dozen rollerbel jumps, get real bumpy and rough though so be prepared for knarly arm pump, lol.
with the rain predicted i would be surprised if they even run so have a back up plan!
enjoy.
im abt a month away from being back on a bike so look foward to riding with ya all again!

thanks Telli yeh be good to go for a spin with you again!
I 'm betting i'll be knackered form the sandpit ride so would be good if the rain delays it for another time!
What is the story with rain / cancellation - I couldn't find any info on their website, just a phone number for the raceline?

Just in case anyone didn't get the email this morning it has been postponed until next Sunday the 13th.
Fingers crossed we're riding tomorrow, weather isn't great again but better than last weekend.

We had an email from a club saying that Ken Fells will be running tomorrow regardless - that he won't postpone again. Unsure who told them that.
RACING TODAY
- Posted on 13.06.2010
Yes we are racing today
Wow that was hardwork today. First battle was getting the Land Rover up through the mud. Had to get towed by the tractor.
Racing wasn't too good, managed 2 laps in the first race before crashing right on the start finish line and pulling off, second race got my goggles caked so took them off, managed a lap and then got an eyeful of mud and couldn't see so again pulled in. Good day out but bloody tough work.
Have to apologise to the guy at Greenlane Washworld, he had one hell of a mess to clean up after I was done.

Sorry mate but I have to say that was a very average effort for the Landrover. The guys at Top Gear would have had a field day. Are you sure James May wasn't driving??
Even the Subaru with two bikes on the back went past you.
All in all we had more fun watching the 4x4 efforts than the racing, which was average as well. I suupose it didn't help that juniors bike had a lock up on the first lap.
I was pissed off with the efforts of the Land Rover too! Bloody embarrassing having dials for sand, mud, rocks, snow and it got stuck in that stuff. The problem was all the controls wouldn't let me put the power down. At one stage I actually got out and left it in drive, all 4 wheels were idle spinning while I was standing next to it. Not my car though, the owner returns from overseas in a few more weeks. Will have to think about cleaning it inside and out soon.
