Anyone else heading out Sunday?

Ktmboy
2nd June 2010, 21:18
Just to add. Open on Monday 7th as well.
Although Saturday and Sunday morning would be my pick of the days to ride. Sunday night looks like the weather will turn to custard. All good for The Sandpit, not so good for the clay riders and MX events on tho. Cheers.

Usually I ride on the Sunday but this time Tawny has arranged time with a mate on Sunday.:(
She's pretty adamant she doesn't want to miss out so it's a Saturday ride :scooter:.
Big bonus for me is Indy said he'll come too and that pleases me no end! :Punk::yes:
..and Poggy and Chris might form posse too!!:Police::ar15:
...and Aaron has a reputation to defend seeing as I heard he was getting slooow, so he may show up as well!!:baby::devil2::2guns:

Yeah well at the risk of saying I'm easy, meaning either day is good for me, the weather forecast is for sun and cloudy on Saturday, and heavy rain for Sunday! So Saturday sounds pretty good!!!

Think it may be Sunday for me and the boy. That's if a/ his new radiator arrives on time and b/ I can sort out my kick start. Might be carrying it in my boot again!:shit:

I am still in the training mode - as in trying to correct all the wrong things I was doing before the training.

I don't mind getting wet - might make it more interesting! :innocent:

Sounds like a big KB day out somewhere in there. Wonder if Climintie and the girls are going? keep my pair company. although ther getting a bit fast these days!

BTW pissing down is good, hard sand, no-one in the way and the sorta weather conditions I might get if I decide to do the Tarawera 100.

didn't try a 450 though. your cr had some humph was afraid to pull the throttle right open !, Rupe's kxf was the best, surprised at the snappy power delivery even better than the 200exc or the kdx.

Yeah I like Rupes KXF250 too. I found it a bit more friendly than the 450. I just found the 450 a bit angry. I can see that the 450's would be great on a MX track though.

Rupe's bike gets around huh :D We had a good ride today. Really nice and packed down, but only rained a little on us twice, sunny otherwise but not too hot. YZ went great, getting the hang of it through the trees now, like the handling way better than the RM now I'm used to it. Bit of a bumpy ride over roots, but oh well that's mx bikes for you, I just need to work on my technique some more!
Krad did roost me and meatbomb with cow poo, but an otherwise excellent day...

Their just picken on the old guy mate!! NO kudos for them though!
NA! I like to try and keep up, even though they are 15-20years younger and are racing. But I've always been immature LOL!!
Overall I'm pretty happy with Sunday actually. I last rode with them about a year ago and they had to wait for me for ages at every intersection etc. On Sunday I pretty much kept up with the bunch without any obstacles tripping me up and them having to all wait for me. And after they left I went on and did another fast (for me) hour or more. Did just under 3 hours seat time in an afternoon's fairly quick sand riding. So they can say what they like I'm OK with my improvement over the last few months. I can feel my muscles now but I'm not slaughtered like I used to be either so I'm really enjoying my riding at the moment!!

Kept my place in the Que with a bunch that pretty much doesn't ride but races everywhere LOL!!!
Not taking it hard, I'd rather be Mr May in your bunch than the Townley in a slower bunch! There's always someone faster eh! unless your name is Birch!! LOL!!!

Where we riding next week?
Was thinking about Fells, seeing it was posponed (I quite like the fast suff).
But if I'm serious about the T100 I'd probably be better trying to get my ride time to 4 hours with less rest time out the sandpit?
Say 2-3, 1.5 hour non stop sessions?? That might get me through 2-3 laps if I'm lucky and its not pissng down at the T100???

Mate your suspension set up at woodhill wont even be close for ken fells they are two completly different terrains, if you are revalved for crosscountry trail riding type tracks you will need to do some testing with compression settings or you will find ya self kicked over the bars even if you dont do the jumps. That track is so fast and hard.

We set the sag up and set everything else to factory as a start point for him to fiddle with from there.

Have you raced Fells Andy?? Whatya reckon use my fast trail riding setting or Ardmore/Mercer (Jumps) setting as a starting point??

Ha ha I think I started that James May nickname after following Rick through one of the tracks at woodhill! Haha!

Rick if your serious about the T100, do it. Its an experience and buzz that is like no other race I've done. Not that I've done many races, but its pretty intense! Just start on your fitness now and hit it hard. Its only 1 month till the race. I'd try to eat right and cut out the booze until the race too. You'll be fine in the race, I just entered each time with a positive attitude and treated it a bit like a trail ride. Second year I did it I did alot more fitness, just the rain let me down from doing another lap......

i got up there earlyish this morning, conditions perfect, started up the track and found my clutch is faucked. huge sigh. it was working perfectly last time i road. this was also my first time at woodhill in about 3 years, had been psyched about the ride. thought i'd fix it today and ride tomorrow but phoned around and couldn't get new plates. so unless anybody happens to have a set of clutch friction plates for a 99 CR250 i won't be up there until i get parts

Was mainly playing around the hill climbs by the 4WD carpark. That was fun :D
