It's got a steering wheel.

Plus it makes the new Harley trike look positively sport bike!

I like this pair of Guzzi jugs better, but the rocker covers are in the way.

the latest guzzi review in mct doesnt sound too good, and i dont like the engine config, but i still look forward to the guzzi cafe racer review, hopefully its got better handling. and not a steering wheel, or tracks.

Finally i understand that whole shaft drive thing.:innocent:Nice, does it come in red?

nudemetalz
3rd June 2010, 21:13
The ironical thing about this, is that this 3-wheel drive monstrosity is powered by a traverse 700cc air-cooled V-twin with a shaft drive.
I can see the lineage with my bike already.......

Would be cool :)

What's a Moto Guzzi?

AllanB
3rd June 2010, 22:44
I came accross a site offering superchargers for Guzzis and another with a 1400+cc big bore kit.

So now in my dream garage I have a 1400cc Supercharged Moto Guzzi and incidently a Guzzi girl to clean it! Hey it is a dream garage OK.

Always liked them and glad they are still around.

I had a long and passionate relationship with a Mk2 LeMans, and I loved that bike more than any bike before or since. Only problem it was a piece of shit under 130 kmh - over that it was a dream to ride, but the cuntstables didn't understand that. They are strangely addictive, and sitting at the lights with the bike gently rocking from side to side is a deeply spiritual thing.

Guzzi is the only other brand I'd go to other than Triumph and every now and again I think about sticking the Bird on Tardme and looking for a Guzzi.

Spiritual alright, especially when the #$%^&* wouldn't start this morning !!
Clutch in, clutch out, sidestand up, sidestand down (they have lockout switches) still nothing.
Finally get the starter switch to work only to have it not spring back so have to kill the bike immediately because the starter motor was engaged while it was running !!!
Bloody rainy weather and Italian bikes don't mix too well........

I'm still having a dirty affair with a Mk2....

But I've modified mine to be just as much fun at 100kph

What have you done? I'm thinking of going back to the dark side and a Le Mans made bearable would be excellent - it has to be a Tonti frame for me. I considered getting an older Cali and de-cruisering it.

I broke down once in Levin (wet day) and was trying to figure what the problem was and a bloke asked me what was wrong. "Electrical, it doesn't like rain". He replied "of course not, it's a Guzzi".

Only problems I had were the UJ shat itself once and the rest was electrical.

The rear sets made it rideable but eventually I've gone to std pegs and put some moto x bars on it (the clamps are under the pad - an hour to convert, all cables reach) It has transformed it - the steering is lighter and its just so much easier to ride...

V7 is my favourite Guzzi. Too little for me, but I don't care.

Stelvio I really (really) liked on the dirt, The Ed loved it on the road, I wasn't that keen.
He hasn't ridden that many ADV bikes and didn't like it off road, but my read is that was about the size of the bike, more than capability.

For road use, I prefer the heavier flywheel of a conventionally mounted Vee twin and the lower-in-the-rev range torque associated. The free 'revingness' of the V7 and the ability to pin the throttle a bit appealed to me best.

For spooling up on good gravel that stelvio is a peach too.

I've decided to keep my baby. I had considered selling it but have been riding it more recently and it is a very sensual ride. Plus it looks nice and is a joy to ride at lower speeds probably due to small valves and small carbs compared to the Le Mans while still pulling close to 2 hundy on a closed road. Now to replace the fork seals so the 60ml's of oil will stay in there.

Awesome that you're keeping the Guzzi. Nothing better in my opinion !!

Funny, I thought of your bike as soon as I saw this and wondered if you'd sold it!
Yay you! :)

What are they, 28K? Serious amount to drop on a demo bike for a scooter dealership. I'm not partial to the denim green colour but the rest of the bike is too farkin cool for school.

Yeah round about $29K about $3K more than a standard 8V one.

If you ever get a chance, take one for a ride, they are cool to ride.
I did a test on one and wrote it up here a wee while back.
The 8V engine really takes off over 6000rpm. Love to have it in the V11 Chassis.
