It is understood she was told the male juror had confided to his fellow jurors that he had been sexually aroused by the victims' evidence but had coped on Tuesday by wearing a condom in the courtroom.

Because if you pick and choose only the news of the world you want because its all cherry you become a unformed dolt with a strange and unformed view of the world.
You should read more.

It's her life, she can read what she wants. And who are you to comment on whether she is doing anything positive or not. Like you've said yourself before Steve, if you haven't got anything worthwhile to contribute don't post.

Labelling that that type of input as "not worthwhile" is just your opinion based on no experience at all. Try it for yourself and see what happens - you might change your mind afterwards.

Telling someone how to life their life based on a thread is exactly that, not worthy input. You say it worked for you? That's great Steve. Suicide has worked for a lot of people too, want to try that and report back to us?
Edit/ Before you get your sprinkles in a twist, I'm not suggesting you commit suicide. But telling people what they should read or think just because it worked for you does not mean it will work for anyone else, or that they even need your help in the first place.

Just to keep some balance here.........
If he confided in someone because he was truly confused and upset about his reactions (there are some truly confused individuals out there) I don't feel the vemon here is fully justified.
If, however, he was joking about it during the jurys coffee break that's another matter entirely.

Ooooo, calm down now, no need for name calling. Was Mom distraught about it? Was she complaining? Maybe she actually thought it was funny, we can't tell as there is no real inference in her post. But along comes Steve with his step ladder and high horse, climbs up high, then procedes to tell her;

I ask you, where do you think you get off telling someone to do something positive just from a thread they posted on the internet?

Actually, knowing now as we do that steve refuses to read negative, badly written, useless info posted on the net puts his own posts into the perfect context because he clearly doesn't read his own posts.

Jeeze - you are a guy OK - you probably get aroused by bread baking...
But back to the original post, yes, kinda sad but lawyers don't tend to pick people likely to convict their client do they? And really, in the over all scheme of things at least you are dealing with an honest pervert... Much better than the sneaky sort.
There are some sad buggers out there.....

These things are not always as clear cut as they seem at first.
I have a friend who would be similar, aroused by violent rape, aroused by pedophilia, enjoys sado masochism, has trouble empathising with others...
BUT in defense
SHE was raped violently at a young age, was prescribed a cocktail of drugs by psychiatrists which left her confused and suicidal for years, became a drug addict in her early teens and most importantly she KNOWS AND ACKNOWLEDGES she has a problem.
In a situation like this she would definitely excuse herself at the beginning of the trial not after she has heard evidence.
The thing is that she does try hard to not do anything inappropriate but when met with revulsion and rejection if she talks about her problem and trying to cope with it has voiced things like "why do I bother people hate me anyway" Its easier to pretend it does not exist than to try and get help to deal with it at times :(

A jury of your peers, well considering the charge, the jury picked on the correct guy by sounds of it.
At least by admitting to the jury,it is probably good he was removed, how he could come(no pun)to a guilty/innocent conclusion whilst being in his "happy" space, means to me he is in no way able to take in the relevant info and make an unbiased decision.

I wonder if the cops will be having a look at this guy now - getting a horn while hearing about teenagers being sexually abused.
