Wasn't my Big that stripped it's splines :innocent:. I seem to recall a broken gear shifter on one of those unreliable orange Bigs though
Lost sump bung on a KLE 400 (?)
And we won't mention the carnage on Tuckerbags bike

I notice a small red highlighted line of text on the route webpage that I think should also be mentioned here....

Please do not attempt to ride this route outside the organised weekend as the route crosses private land.
You need to get in touch with cooneyr for land owner details if you are thinking about it

Same for last years route, there are two sections that I'm aware of that you should consult land owners over first.

The DB and DB prep rides are hard/expensive on bikes.

Do you mind if I add to that NordyBoy?

The DB and DB prep rides are hard/expensive on bikes, and parked cars

I can't believe I forgot this, only just remembered this morning... tell us that fantastic story again how you hit that parked car in Waimate cooneyr :corn: don't forget the details on the fact it was parked, not moving, completely stationary :p

Not that exciting really - just a bit embarising for me:Oops:. Just dont try and write on a peice of paper while riding. Too much time looking at the Adv's glovebox and not enough the road. Lets just say it was a good thing I had barkbusters on cause the mirror would have caused a bit of pain in my left hand and probably a second clutch issue for the weekend. All I needed to remember was 0.8. I remember it really well now!

I'm pretty happy with the outcome cause I looked up about a second before and though I was going to go down the road. Maybe it should become a new ADV sport - smashing mirors with barkbusters while trying not to fall off. The ADV version of letter box baseball.

Cheers R

P.S. still no bill from the guy . . . . . yet!

Hi guys the pics look great cant wait,
To those fellas that did the test ride a couple of weeks ago did anyone take note of the greatest distance between gas stations, would suck to have to push the old girl over that awsome terrain when I would rather ride.

The distance between gas stops and the hours gas stops are open is all part of the planning. I'll put a table of distances up on my website soon. Generally less than 200km between stops some areas as little as 120 and one leg of about 270ish but gas is available about 100km in by going 8km of the route. Gas can be an issue for the one day riders given the hours they are out an about.
