Been riding for abouuuuut.. six months now?
Started off on a family friend's GN for the basics, and then bought by own RGV on the cheap. Got stung a little, as it turned out it was a little bit of a lemon! I though I was getting a bargain, but not really. The first time taking it out on the empty road, it blew up at 140.
To this day we still don't know what went wrong, there were no obvious mechanical failings when we took her all apart. But it was a good thing we did, because it was obvious the last punter really hadn't been taking any care of it! So a whole lot of replacement parts and bits and bobs and cleaning out, we got her back on the road, and she's running like a dream now. Thinking of upsizing once I get onto my restricted, but until then I'm loving my little two smoker.
Really fun and zippy around town, but got the guts to keep up with my mates on their bigger (and much more expensive) bikes :P

Mate, believe me, you didn't buy a lemon you bought a two stroke. Once you've blown it up a few more times you'll get the hang of it! Best advise I can give you is to always cover your clutch! ;)

BTW, welcome to KB.

Hi Maggot,

My first bike was a rgv, great little 2 stroke....but too zippy in my opinion for a first bike so then I got a gn250 (loved her) so easy to ride, even though they not built for speed - it suited me. Both great bikes!!
Happy riding :)
