Honda NXR125 Bros - too little for a 6'1 guy?

Hey guys, I had a play on my cousin-in-law's 2009 NXR125 Bros today, just down the road and up again and was wondering how it would fair for someone like me - 6'1 and about 92kg?

The power was expectant of a 125 four stroke but having never been off road, I wasn't sure if this would be enough for a heavy/tall guy like myself? I know dirt bikes have soft suspension but it really dived down when I hopped on, hehe.

I just thought I'd ask because they seem to go for only a couple of grand and it would be a pretty fun weekend blast type bike. As well as something to dip my feet into going off road on.

So I guess that answered my question then, haha.
My cousin in law is a short brazillian fellow, so it's great for him - for me, not so much. A damn shame because they look like they were going for cheap too.

So a 250 is the best bet, then? Any recommendations for a budget around 3 - 4k? Spending as little as possible, if possible.

Advantage is when you stack it into a gorse bush, half way up a greasy hill, it's light to skull drag out. (the gorse will still hurt though).
But yeah, you might be a bit cramped.
XR400, Dr/DRZ might be available in that price range.

I've got a little 2003 Honda XLR125, seem pretty similar to the NXR, but bigger wheels front and rear 21/18 vs 19/17. I'm 6" 2 and 85kg, not really capable of open road cruising but ok off road even with road biased tyres (knobblies going on this weekend.).

The real reason for going for the XLR was price $1800 reg and 12 month wof'd.

For the 3-4k I'd go for the latest model DR-Z250 you can find The Jatz'z Boy has one and it sounds great for off road...

Seriously, though, with a few simple modifications, the NXR125 make an extremely versatile prospect. For a taller fellow, do what I did, and raise the handlebars and move the foot pegs back 50mm. At the same time, for standing comfort, replace the hopelessly small standard pegs with decent sized ones. Lower the gearing by two teeth on the front sprocket to close up the gear ratios, and you’ll be fine.

The headlight’s better than average, the suspension’s OK up to moderate speed, and the tank range is outstanding – over 400km on sealed roads and not far off that on adventure type riding. I nearly got to Lawrence from Fairlie on the 2010 DB1k ride.

Electric start, gear-driven single-lobe camshaft, and five gears are just the icing on the top.

My other half just got a xt225 with 8k for 3grand.

Its no rocket, but it can do us two up to her rider training! does 100 2 up on the motorway, its bloody light! but i do ride a 950 adventure.... and it rides like new!

Great fun machine!
