Hey guys...

I have had reports that the aftermarket variator and clutch kits that i have put in two jogs are starting to give trouble.
One now stalls at the lights and tops out at 45k, the other just stalls.
clutch springs breaking?

did you do the work ??

of course, all done properly with proper tools and all.
I did the first jog after the far north trip, 90 mile beach killed it a bit

The jogs have too much power for the kits. Must be ripping the clutch to bits with all that torque.

could be to soft torque spring
cluth springs only hold back the rollers in the variator and the point of clutch ingagement (RPMs)

stalling seems extreme for a tran problem usually it just bogs down and can't gain speed.
Run it up off the rear wheel, see if the engine is sweet (it will bounce around so keep a hold of it) .
If engine is ok then you will just have to pull the variator apart and the clutch. check the clutch weiner spring length against the std ones. A heavy contra spring helps power on off recovery.

I found the black ramp plate hits the alloy variator when its idling leaving a little indent where the rollers sit causing premature wear of the rollers. Chain spooge used very sparingly on the rollers, variator, ramp plate and the three sliders helps after a lightly rubbing out the marks.(seems to stay in place)

I would suspect the clutch on the rear hub, I had a problem years ago with the first Aprilia RS50's in the country, where one had a incorrectly sized clutch shoe, which wore the drum en-evenly causing the scooter to stall at the lights..... I am not saying that this is your problem (as you say, broken spring is a posibility), but it does not take much to check!

nope, but i know both jogs have the same clutch+tranny kits in them, and both are giving similar problems, makes me wonder about the kits.
