Admittedly I'm a bit down at moment after finding out I will be living hard for a couple of months after my two bikes(one mx, one road) racked up over 1k of bills in the last two weeks. Probably just my luck that the mx bike would reach time for a rebuild at the same time as the road bike needing reg and wof. Mostly it was just that there were a few surprise issues, I wasn't counting on having to get a new intake valve kit for the mx bike, on having to buy extra tools including a butane torch to get some of the bolts off (though I probably did save a bit by doing the top end rebuild myself as I already had most of the tools I needed, and I will have the extra ones for next time), or the road bike have misaligned steering which neither I or 3 of my friends who rode the bike noticed.

I am pretty sure the answer is just to suck it up but I'm open to any ideas that don't include selling body organs...

It sucks - looks like you will be living on toast and baked beans for a while.
Worth it though...........

Perhaps you could try your luck down at the docks. "Hello, sailor. Have you been blown ashore?".

Mmmmm. Baked beans on toast (with grated cheese and a poached egg on top). Yum

I wouldn't want to steal your market ;) . I'll just stick to driving computers.

Unfortuantely I started fixing the non urgent one first because I didn't know the urgent one would require anything to be fixed. Turns out I won't be as bad as I thought but still a lot to shell out in a month

They are both urgent!! They are both priorities! You wont feel down once your two babies are in 100% cond and ready to go, and any weight lost on your 'enforced' economy drive will see you in great shape for that mx beast.!

If it makes you feel any better my Jap agent made a big error with shipping and I have from yesterday till monday to monkey up with 100k ($100000) or I pay demarage fees of $50 a day per unit (16 units).--Doesn't that make $1000 seem easy
