I'm hoping to be ready. Currently grinding away piston to not hit vavles! I might have to run with multiple head gaskets. Careful with high-lift cams!

My son and I dipped out toes in the world of buckets for the second time in 6 months and we had a blast. What a great crowd of people there.
Looks like we'll have to buy a second set of gloves and boots so we can run two bikes...:innocent:
Got a ex Napier bucket GL 145 with high bars and standard pegs to start with......
Got some ideas walking around the " pits" today.
I liked the sidecars, the gearshift/clutch on one was a seperate lever.:gob:....ah the smell of two stoke...mmmmm

"The only photos of me on the chair is when I lost my footiing and nearly came off " by Pumba (yesterday).
Hey Pumba, sorry about knocking you totally off this afternoon! :o It spoilt what would otherwise have been a great day for both of us. You were awesome in the wet earlier and I screwed it up for your championship points race :weep:
I hope your ankle is on ice right now and that it heals quickly.
Hope the bike damage is no more than it looked. I've been knocked off before but this is the first time I've knocked someone else off! I've learnt an important lesson :slap:. Truly sorry.

The number of broken people by the end of the day put a bit of a damper on things. Strange that it all started to go wrong once the track dried off.
Only other thing to say is I love wets, makes riding in the rain against people on slicks almost cheating.

Wow those side chair bikes look awesome!! Any video footage of them by any chance?! Were they quick around the track?
Henk

Video in the "return of the sidecars" thread (I think) Not sure what the lap times were but it seemed plenty fast when you were trying to hold on to the thing and switch from one side to the other.

Decided that I should head off and get an x-ray this morning. Small chip on the bone. Not to major just a pain in the arse.
Oh talked to Maria again this morning. The got sent home from the hospital last night and told to come back tomorrow so the big boss could assess him. He is currently waiting around for surgury.

No they have just out a compersion sock on it for the moment, and been told to keep it up and continue iceing it. I will go back Wedneday and get it checked out and he may give me a walking boot at then if he thinks I need it.

My knee felt was worse this morning so I went to the doctor and was then sent to a physio. Torn medial meniscus, torn MCL (medial collerateral ligament) and torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) it seems. Extent of damage will be clearer when swelling goes down and more movement can be checked with less pain. I have a compression support and taking anti-inflamatory tablets. At least one crutch was recommended but I'll try till Wednesday (next appointment) without. :(

How do you get to do all those injury's on a bucket?
My lower leg, below my right knee, was twisted somehow. One of the guys said Pumba's bike ran over me - if it did, it went over the inside of my right knee while I was sliding on my tummy. I decided to overtake Pumba and the rider he was directly behind. As I was going past, Pumba also decided to overtake the rider in front of him. As I went past, Pumba moved towards me while doing his overtaking, and only then noticed me - I could see this was not looking good and touched the front brake to try to avoid contact with Pumba - unfortunately I lost the front end at that stage and went straight into Pumba's path. I did not predict Pumba's movements and screwed up on the brakes once I saw what was happening.

Bugger! Wouldnt bother with a recon, you'll spend too much time off the bike!! also riding off-road without an acl is no worries, all the best with the recovery.

I think there must have been atl least 10 off's.... I came off in the sweeper in the rain... only a bruise and lots of mud.
The sight of three bike piled up the bank was impressive... but a worry also...
Thats the part of buckets that scares me... its generaly painless when you come off and slide by yourself.. its getting tangled up with others that seem to casue the most pain... I try and aviod any contact at all cost like most I assume and I try not to push to much in the heat of the battle... some times you just have to wait for a screw up to get past.
Mind you I only race in B grade... A grade looks alot more agresive.

In fact a hanging offense as far as JC is concerned.
Understanbly from my point of view, completely preventable and puts the guy behind you at huge risk of plowing up the back of you.

What were you practicing? Not going fast? I'm probably 40-50kg heavier than you at a guess. You shouldn't have any trouble passing me, even at 'practice pace'. The bike I was on was incorrectly geared and isn't getting a good mixture through the carb so it's not like I had a whole lot of power to play with.
