View Full Version : How many bikers have got facial hair?

Rainbow Wizard

Namely beards or moustaches vs long sideburns that are just so passe!
I sure don't need a scarf because my goatie is like a trusty friend, always there when I need it. Seems the ladies don't like em though. Yep, I'm single and it seems the beard's one of the reasons for that.

Hard choice that, neck warmer for biking vs neck warmer for bonking. One costs less to run!

Sweet, a thread for the minority :)
I've finally reached the point where it looks like a full beard. Up until recently, it was looking rather scruffy. Now, I just look a little scruffy.

Actually, I was thinking of shaving it off soon. What do you ladies think? :msn-wink: Clean shaven, full beard, mustache only or goatee?

I have a bit of a Goatee only shave it when it bugs me. Need to get a trimmer so I wont have to start all over every few weeks.

Had several beards over the years, one for over five years. Always been wanting to grow another but just seem never to get round to it. Mind you I'm fresh out of razor blades at the mo' so who knows.

Dude, you need to do something funky with that facial hair! Shaving it off would just be a waste!

Where was the option for chops in that poll?! huh?!

Hmmmm, I think I MAY have like 6 4pack's of razors, as well as a new razor lying around. Picked one up, up north a while ago :msn-wink:  :msn-wink:

I like - Wispy weedy mo's on the Beardlings between 15 -18 years,

sexy & tufty little chin-rugs on the 18 +, and after that, whatever is neat, interesting and suits your personal style .... Hagrid in Harry Potter ? Where'd he be without his hair ??

Personlly I PREFER guys facial fuzz - especially goatees - adds character :msn-wink:

What was that spoof or comedy movie where the camera panned around the table of Amish people and they all had long beards, even the women. :killingme
It might have been one of the Wayne's World films. :niceone:

That's it! I'm gonna cut it off and keep it intact and hunt you down then glue it on to your chin with superglue! :devil2: C:\Geoff Home PC\My Documents\My Pictures\RedBeard

Full beard though I keep it trimmed these days, would prefer a ZZTop style again but the Mrs doesn't like the inbetween stage. Now I have a gentlemans bike I spose that I should look like one now. And the Mrs is happy now that I don't look like a biker.... she is trying to talk me into a textile jacket now.

Got a small beard...

both religious reasons and also i belive having a beard sort of gives you a more "matured" look...Ive had my beard from when i was 19 and still got it... just a small one though (like size 2 or 3)

Some say it makes me looks older - so once i decided to remove it and man was i feeling wierd... you know when you shave your head, then you get that WHITE look on top of your head and everything else is normal skin colour.....same thing with beards. So decided to keep again :)

Now who ever tells me i look older, i just give them the :motu:

(ok - it was mean - and no I didn't actually do it... but it WOUL be kinda funny in a non PC kinda way...)

Beetling eyebrows.

And other bits of hair. Just a few. :shifty:

Every so often I go clean-shaven, but my wife doesn't like it. I think she likes the way the beardie bits tickle.

never been able to grow a decent beard, too busy growing it on the top of my head. Used to be jealous of my dads bushy sideburns back in the 60's but I missed out on those genes ( at least I think he was my dad )

In theory I have a neatly trimmed goatee/moustache combo ("spade beard" I believe the term is).

In practice I can't be stuffed shaving or trimming most the time so my facial hair ranges from stubble to wild and all over. Better things to do with my time than shaving - I have a wife and two kids and a shit-load of friends plus my own hobbies and interests. Who has time to shave?

If I'm going out somewhere special or if my beard has got too ratty and annoying I shave and trim.

Too bad my facial hair grows faster than the hair on top of mah head. Had a goatee since I was 15 and told to shave it in school. Apart from a few fleeting moments where I wanted to know if I still had a chin, I have had it always. Takes like a week to grow the damn thing! And for as many compliments I get from the ladies, I get just as much disapproval. :weird:

Just the 'flavour savour' at the minute, other styles come and go though.
Good to grow facial hair every now and then and have a break from the shaving.

Had a mo since I was 18. Shaved it off once and felt bereft.
Had a beard briefly in my 20s but made the mistake of letting it get too long and found it uncomfortable. Now have a very short goatee which is just right.

Facial hair fashions are fascinating. Rightly or wrongly the presence or absence of fuzz is taken to represent attitudes and lifestyles. After WWII the fashion tended to be clean-shaven, and beards came to be associated with beatnik poets, seamen and professors of philosophy. In the late 60s and early 70s no self-respecting 20 year old would lack a moustache, although it had to be bushy and preferably droopy (no Hitler toothbrush types, thank you). A couple of years ago I was told that only middle-aged gay men had a moustache without an accompanying goatee...
The tyranny of fashion is insidious. IMHO if you need a hairstyle, facial hair or clothing to define who and what you are it's pretty sad...

I shave once 2-3 days, for that messy look. Partner likes it, but if i let it get out of control then i get told off :nono:
i dont like it long, but i am too lazy to shave all the time, so once every few days works for me.
Ohh and if it gets too long then it gives me trouble with the helmet strap

Save it dude, I've got a full 'Viva Zapata' mo and a grouse set of 'burns. along with a No1 hair cut.

May look a bit Village People and some say only gays wear a mo like that but so what? Chrissy-Bimbo likes it, same as she did in '73!! (It's a bit greyer now though)

lol - the humor never ends - real mullets are facial hair :) they dominate the owner and often link with a dirty FTB beard or something.

I've always quite fancied the 'Lemmy from Motorhead' style mustache and chops, with optional warts.

However, my wife has assured me she has a set of 'break seal in case of facial hair emergency' divorce papers hidden in a safe place in case I should ever try it.

I have a short beard- short as in #1 or #2 on the trimmer. Grew it to wind the wife up. She claims she doesn't like it, but without giving too much away, I know she does, oh yes
