Very quickl question, can someone tell me how many races you get at Nats for the 600s (whatever they're going to be called) per round. I was under the impression it was 3, but someone has told me its 3. I need to know as I'm trying to work out how many tyres I'm going to need.

Cheers

season just gone was

5 Champioship rounds

2 races per meeting

So race usage, 2x rear 1x front and at least another set for Qualify

So Min 3 rears and 2 fronts

PS this may change due the new3 rules being looked intio at the moment, but this year is already to late to change rules and make it fare for all.

and the proposal at the moment is to have 3 and also floated was the idea of a superpole as well. Let's hope no one crashes and messes up the timetable

Hi.
Currently it is two races per weekend. Suggest you download the rules from the MNZ website www.mnz.co.nz

Hense my post re September Rules, NO ONE CAN PLAN PROPPERLY for this season, O, It may to be an advantage for some one with a superstock contract if the rules do get changed though??

No one knows anything yet :(

Yes, the situation as it stands right now is:
5 rounds, 3 practice/quals, 2 races.
The proposal on the table is to go back to 3 races, the same as the other classes, so 5 rounds, 2 practice/quals, 3 races (1 Sat, 2 Sunday) + Superpole for Superbike Class.

Another suggestion was made at the Road Race workshop, but not sure how close to being put on the table it has gotten; Make NZSBK two (2) rounds held over 4 days each, TT meeting in NI (Hampton Downs probably) in earlyish summer, GP meeting in SI (Ruapuna probably) at Easter.
Newbies will not remember, but until not so long ago (maybe 15-20 years ago???) the GP meeting was traditionally held at Ruapuna over the Easter weekend.
Got squeezed out by the car crowd, again!

There are a whole bunch of positive points around doing this, at least for a couple of years, one of which is the ability to do heavy marketing, sponsors, spectators etc.
There are negatives also, what if you break at first round? No time to recover etc.

Oh, and you have the right/responsibility to make a submission to MNZ on any/all of these proposals.
Please check out the proposals on the link provided above, decide which ones are relevant to you, read and understand them, think about them, then make comment back to MNZ. If you are an MNZ member and want to go racing, it is YOUR responsibility to make comment. Don't just end up moaning by saying They did this and They did that.
In the end They will do it, but if you comment you can at least claim the high ground rather than moaning from under the troll bridge.

As you were.

Just my 2c
The rounds should be the other way round

I think the NI TT round should be near Easter. The weather is more settled in the NI then.
The weather seems to settle in the SI sooner so early summer down south for the GP.

Not wanting to start a North South war here

I wish my 400 did that - last year i burnt 7 rears easily...... mind you the front tyre did 5 rounds and was still fine - bloody thing wouldn't give out - fastest lap was in round 5 before i swapped it!!
