Who has done 6R test in Mt Maunganui?

OK, I'm 7 or 8 weeks away from doing my 6R test but I reckon too much perparation is better than none at all. As well, it's a good excuse to be going out for a ride to claim that you're familiarising the license test ride route.

Has anyone done their 6R in Mt Maunganui. I understand that you do the 6R and 6F tests in the Mount (VTNZ?) even if you book at AA tauranga.

Any info welcomed.

I did my 6r at the mount two months ago. The tester who I think may be the only one came across as an ahole at first but actually turned out to be a good bloke so dont let him put you off. He will use a walkie talkie thing to tell you where to go. He gave me heaps of notice of where to turn and repeated it 2 or 3 times. The audio quality was fine i had no problem understanding his instructions. Its really just a matter of riding around normally but with someone telling you where to go.

The tester who I think may be the only one came across as an ahole at first but actually turned out to be a good bloke so dont let him put you off.There is a similar situation at Whakatane. The examiner comes over as a little gruff, but relax, call him Sir, and smile, and you'll find he's a nice fella underneath, especially if its obvious you know your stuff.
