That's another classic example where the government is wasting tax payer money for their own greed. Copper certainly ain't cheap these days.

That money could have been much better spent erecting a giant gold statue of Peter Jackson hand in hand with Terry Serepisos standing atop a giant rugby ball embossed with Kiwiana such as silver ferns, jandals, gumboots, buzzy bees and Blanket Man.

Just a minor point, but Wellington Airport (http://www.wellington-airport.co.nz/html/business/shareholders.php) is owned by Intratil (http://www.infratil.com/). I suggest you take up your complaint with its shareholders (http://www.nzx.com/markets/NZSX/IFT).

I work at airports, and I think Wellington is going to be fucking cool. Someone with balls stood up and said - let's do something different.

Interesting they say the copper will weather.
It would be cool if it turned green (the copper top of the beehive was supposed to but never did).

All of the info about this agency is on a file somewhere - but because no-one wanted to ask for a PEDA file it was never investigated.

This is why "artists" should never have anything to do with projects like this.
