To those who dont fuckin' wave or nod at me ever, thank you very very much!
The pressure that some bikers might endure must be horrendous!
Oh fuck, here comes a bike, should I wave? should I nod? will they wave or nod back? :(
Will they think im an arse for not waving or nodding if they do it first?
Should I use just one finger? :finger:
Lucky I have my tinted visor on, they cant see me.....can they? :shifty:
Shit they are getting closer, I must decide NOW! :sweatdrop
I dont know them, they dont know me, I owe them nothing, they owe me nothing.

I laugh at the reaction I get when I circle my finger above my head indicating a Highway Patrol unit in the vicinity.. It must look funny but the amount of individuals I give it too look at me like I'm a retard or on my way to a rodeo ..

Guess they all do not follow the KB threads

i take my left hand off the bars to wipe the water mist off my visor when riding in heavy fog, which is approx every 10-15seconds......otherwise you ride blind.
also i wave to riceburners, tourers etc....no cruiser bike has ever waved back, so i gave it up. they are always too busy showing everyone they got attitude. it must take a lot of practice and concentration.

I am not sure I will ever be able to nod downwards at someone again after reading that

Dear God I am now reduced to thinking about whether I nod up or I nod down.

PS: I flashed a cop in the car by accident the other day, was attempting to turn off my cruise control that was set at a tad over the limit when he hove into sight, instead of pushing the button on the stalk I pulled it towards me :o

Spare a thought for us folk out in the sticks. The moment I get out of my drive the waving starts. Do you wave to every bike in town?
During the first ten minutes of any ride I get more waves than Piha. I will have to either fit a 'wavy machine' or buy a HD.

OK, on this occassion I know him, but thats doesn't mean that I should feel the glee and warm fuzzys just because someone who I probably dont know (and will never know) may or may not acknowledge my presence on the road.

Agreed, one in say 5 wave back. I wave or rather nod to all, even those big silly coots on the goldwings, and people wearing those homo looking hi-vis things that kep them seen.
I also nod the cruisers, ricies tend to wave or reply, even some of the other patchers do to, but only when they solo, after all images to maintain......
If they don't wave back, I assume they are to busy concentrating on the traffic and not crashing.......

If I am in a stirring mood, I make sure I wave to all the cruiser types. Not a half-hearted wave, but a full in the air wave not even a blind man could miss. I can only speculate on their thoughts about that. A surprising number wave back if they are alone though.
I had a good laugh recently on the way to Hastings. Picture a large Jappa in front, then a dayglow scooter then another large Jappa. The lead bike got the wave then they would spy the scooter with me behind. This usually lead to a slow lifting if the hand till the scoot had passed then I got the wave. Lots of mindless entertainment...

Watch out for " Chorus " work vans - got a lot of "waving" - actually raised fist, wanking hand movements and the finger when they tried to run me off the road - waited until I was halfway through the roundabout (I had right-of-way), watched me and then pulled out, cut me off and then slammed their brakes on and did the hand gestures.
Must be stupid to drive like that in a work vehicle....... (or maybe just Auckland drivers)

Personally I'm usually to busy texting and scrolling the net for some new banjo tunes while eating catfood and listening to my Shania CD's to wave, but I do sometimes swerve towards other riders and try to hi-five instead. For some reason they never hi-five back. Shunned :(

Passed all sorts of bikes going both ways and everyone must've been having a good day cos i think everyone waved/nodded/did the old two fingers pointing down thing, even the cruisers.
Mind you, we were riding in a mixed group of sweet customs and sports bikes ourselves.
