Hi there,,
My rear brake pads are only lasting 1 ride. I run wave disk rotors front and rear. Put brand new pads in during the week, went out for a trail ride today and they f*3ked. The pad that sits on the brake piston is worn right down, while the other is 3/4 worn.
What could be causing this. Am i being too hard on them???
Oh and bike is a 05rm250
Cheers Daniel
Check the caliper is sliding freely on it's pins.

Does your foot rub on the pedal? & is there freeplay in the pedal, if it's been adjusted down with the stop bolt, it will need adjusting at the cylinder. If it is marginal a bit of heat will cause it to drag. Should last much longer, even in the mud which is nasty. for the rear Vesrah gold should be a cheaper alternative & seem to last ok.
Wow $90 brake pads!!! You rich bro? :)

What sorta soil are ya riding on? My old KTM usta kill pads real fast on my practice track, it had a fair bit of shale in the dirt, and the slots in the disks used to drag it through the pads when it got muddy...

If you would like to try some DP sintered pads, I would be willing to give you a 15% discount and free freight, just for the interest of comparing them to other brands.
That would be $55 for your rear (RRP $65.17)
and $60 if you needed the front also. (RRP $69.82)
Just a thought.

Standing on the pegs when you ride? Does that change the angle of your foot (compared to whn you are sitting on the seat? (Ie like F5 dave says, are you dragging the brakes when riding, even if it seems you have cllearance over the pedal when sitting)
And yeah, wet sand is pretty abrasive.

Right, have found what the problem is. The bush that the brake pedal swivels on is worn out and the previous owner packed it up with washers to try solve the problem lol, this was causing the piston too stay on the whole time.
Unfornually you can't just buy a bush you have to buy the whole brake pedal. $300 later.
