as far as i can remember my cbr has idled at about 2000-2500rpm for a few minutes from cold. since about a week ago when i start her up, she sits just over 3000rpm. Is it just me or is this a bit excessive? If i turn it off after a few seconds and start her up again it idles at the usual 2500 again until up to temperature. Would this be an issue with the hot wax unit or throttle body?

Any chance it's just the engine management responding to the temperature dropping?

Did you have it this time last year?

If you take it to a Honda dealer they might be able to plug into the computer and tell you why.

But if it returns to normal idle when warm I wouldn't worry about it.

I have an '02 cbr 600 and mine revs up to 3000 - 3200rpm since cold weather arrived usually sits around 2500 rpm. Idle is still the same once shes warm at 1200rpm
