Some of you may not be aware that there is even such an event, well, there is....
This year it is hosted by the New Plymouth Classic Motorcycle Club, 29th to 31st October in Inglewood. Anyone keen to go?

Excellent... I shall post contact details and arrangments as they come off the telegraph machine...
I could be keen for this. Are thier idea's of classics as loose as our site here? Mines only a 1979 so may not be classic enough?

Hi Guys
I am on the committee for the New Plymouth Classic M/C Club.
We currently have a sub-committee that is preparing for this event.
I can confirm that the dates for this years Rally will be the 26 - 28 November.
There will be further information available at the end of this week, including a flier outlining more details regarding registration, accommodation etc.
As soon as I have this I will post it into this thread and add it to the Calendar.

That's a shame alright, we're keen to get as many bikes, riders and owners here as we can to showcase some of our brilliant roads!
Hope it works out and we can host you in November.
Sounds cool but just what is considered a classic for this event?

So do I but like I said - its ages away and the chances of the build programme looking like it does then is not very high so I'm still hopefull. I will definately fill out an entry form regardless....

Kanny loves classic things. Thats why she luv's moi.:innocent:
A gravel ride down to the Naki sounds great Motu, I havn't got a classic era bike, (the Daytona too young), but a dusty scrambler fitted out on knobblies might be allowed to hang out somewhere nearby.
Some bottles of classic port will be required methinks.

Yes, I know.
It's difficult, as I'm sure you realise, to have all one's duck's in a row.
The venue where we will be hosting the Rally is very limited for dates.
Still, if you happen to know a good photographer that's handy with a writing stick (that isn't going to the Burt Munro Challenge - hmmm, that just cut the numbers by about 95% right there) you know where to be!

I was keen for a burn down with Motu actually. Still might be if I don't jag the Burt gig again. The Ed is from Inverkiggle and keeps threatening to go.
So it's really a bike show and not really a Rally? I'm confused (doesn't take much I know)

It is a Rally - but we're hoping there'll be some lush hardware on show.

Movistar
7th July 2010, 19:14
Certainly drinkies/good times. How could you get a bunch of bikers together and not have these key ingredients?
Final accommodation arrangements are being finalised as we speak. Once I have the facts, I'll let you know.
Should have this (I hope) by the end of the week.
Otherwise, as soon as I know any more, you'll know too.

It appears I may have been a little premature in my expectance of having fliers/registration forms ready by last week...
These are being printed the last week of this month.
So I will, as soon as I have received copies, place them here for all to see.
Apologise for the delay.

another question, do you have a route for veterans? not worried about speed or distance mainly out of traffic as the brakes were never designed for other people to be on the road too

Yes there are, might cost you a bit though as it's approx 30kms into New Plymouth...
There maybe some heading in that can give you a lift, or I guess sharing a cab is an option should anyone else be in the same predicament...

The route for the rally has been set, and is mainly back roads, so should be almost free of any other traffic.
The committee have ridden it several times and are keeping a close eye out for the edition of any roadworks etc that may crop up.
It will be as leisurable as you intend to make it - the aim is to ensure everyone has a great time at their own pace.
Please feel free to ask any questions, I'll answer what I can! :niceone:
