View Full Version : Is sushi appropriate food for a biker?
Oakie

I'll admit it. I really enjoy my sushi. Sunday and Wednesday are both 'sushi for lunch' days. Trouble is that I feel a little guilty standing at the at the counter and then walking through the mall in full bike gear with helmet and gloves in one hand and delicate little Japanese morsels in the other. Sort of feel like I'm betraying the biker nutrition code of a half warm pie or burger washed down by something drunk straight from a bottle
What say you? Should I be ashamed? What else is not appropriate biker fare? (Oh yes, if Mrs Oakie and I stop for a coffee on a ride I will have ... a latte) :shit:

Sushi is fine as long as it's cooked.

Sushi is good.
And it's borderline acceptable as long as it's not a decaf soy latte.

I'd say.. a good compromise here would be..
Take your sushi, deep fry it, and have a lite beer.
Close enough! :P

Real men eat things raw so sushi is all good.
They don't admit to poofy coffee though.

You're being FAR too soft on him, Shane!
Pies and steak are biker food... with EXTRA caffiene coffee.
You should be bloody ashamed of yourself, Oakie.....

My favourite meal after a ride (or sometimes during a ride, if I spot a good place) is always a good curry and a cold beer.
None of this seaweed bullshit. That green crap is what food eats.

Repeatedly entering a mall without female company is a bit of a worry mate.

There's a nice wee Sushi bar on a corner right in the middle of Christchurch, dunno the name of it but I enjoy their food and soup!
The latte thing is a bit of a worry though, I think you should take your bike gear off and park well down the street!

Don't forget to order the inari as well, yum! Though perhaps when eating with other bikers, you could take along a hollowed out pie, and put some sneaky sushi inside

I gotta have sushi at least once a week. It is a moral obligation that I must have maguro nigiri - as many as I can afford. We gotta eat that tuna before the Japs make it extinct! The omega-3 and brain parasites are just a bonus.
Mmm. Tuna. The King of Fish!
And there is nothing wrong with a latte, I sometimes enjoy a Vanilla Latte!
- To satisfy my masculinity I scull the thing back and smash the cup on my forehead.
