Hey all, just a quick warning. Probably other roads just as bad, but been riding Paremoremo Rd of late and most corners are bare Tar. The road workers have patched up one of the better ones, but left the nasties for riders to kill em selves on.....
I don't know who is responsible for these roads, however there are a few around getting bad.
I had an incident in the wet by the corner junction of The Avenue and Hobson Rd. The slick stream is so bad It took 25m of holding the skid until the seal traction began. As soon as the seal started I had traction and could recover....
We should prob report such roads to the appropriate councils

You should probably stop riding like a retard.
You have to love the internet, where everyone is an expert.
You obviously know how this person rides.
You obviously know how fast or slow this person was travelling.
You obviously know what condition all areas of the road are in.
You obviously know what riding training and experience this person has.
Go the internet hero!

Patches of slick tar are, unfortunately, endemic on many NZ roads. I suspect they are the result of wear by vehicles, particularly heavy vehicles as they seem to follow the wheel tracks and are mainly on bends, and poor maintenance.
I agree that they should be reported (just don't tell them you ride a motorcycle cos the hand will probably come up. lol)
There is a particular patch on SH16 at the slight left hand bend just prior to Waimauku heading north. There is a turn off on the right and when a vehicle is stopped waiting to turn the slick area is almost impossible to avoid. Even at the reduced speed that I take this bend to allow for all this (cos I know it's there!) the Bavarian Geezer still has a little wriggle in the wet. If you didn't know it was there....!?

I have just received the insurance payout from hitting a similar patch somewhere near Taupo, made worse with a nice coating of diesel.

No, you should report it otherwise it probably won't get fixed until someone crashes.

NZTA if it is a state highway, local council otherwise. They need people to ring in when there are problems like this otherwise they won't know and won't fix it.

Haters hating on me........... feelin the love, oh well over it now, back to the streets..
Oh buy the way all the hater biketards, I am an all weather all terrain rider, not like the posie wearing hole squenchers who only ride in the dry. Man, I don't even own a cage, unlike some of the soft limp members.
Still love you all, and wouldn't wish any malice or contempt on any. Just don't hit the bare tar in the wet and skate like a nanna on a polished floor.

It looks grouse in the wet, especially the two strips between the two tigh bends. Also not keen on the yellow patch they stuck in, loose traction on that also.
icu lol.

Know that road well....used to live there..... it never was maintained very well probably to deter escaping convicts from using it..:innocent:
