If I had the coin, I would chucked a hundy on him.
Looked at FP1 this morning and was pleased I didn't. Watching FP2 now and I'm spewing I didn't.
*Footnote. I feel pretty bad for Colin Edwards III. He's one of my favourite riders, probably in my top five. Not for his ability so much as his totally FTW attitude. Must be hard watching your "rooky" team mate spank ya repeatedly on track.

Well he was eighth in FP1, sixth in FP2 and qualified fourth, best QP to date.
A podium's on the cards at least.

I've said previously in another thread I don't think he'll pull out a genuine (on pace alone) win until he's in a works team. I'll be happy if he proves me wrong though, would love to see it. Agreed a podium is most definitely a possibility, already a big fan of Spies.

Well that was 100 bucks best left in my pocket. 4th aint too bad but I really want to see him win one this season. Ol' Jorge has them pretty much fucked though by the look of it.

Was annoyed with the commentators last night calling him the Champion elect, ffs! They're only 6 races into the frigging season yet. Anything could happen yet, should only be using terms like that when it's mathmatically impossible for him to lose the championship.
Anyway, Spies went well, the rumors about Rossi seem to be stronger than ever about him moving to Ducati, that'd be Spies in a works team yes...?

Thought exactly that myself. However, for Rossi to move to Ducati, someone's goning to have to go from there too. Who would it be? For my mind Hayden's shown better early season form than Moaner but I really can't see Nicky winning a championship for Ducati. Stoner could potentially do it again.

Agreed, myself I think it's way early in the season yet and rumors are just that, time will tell but it's a laugh anyway... Personally I'd like to see Rossi stay at Yamaha and if anyone left it be Lorenzo but i'm biased, there was mention last night that Repsol Works Honda might be running 3 bikes next year, perhaps Yamaha should do the same Rossi, Lorenzo and Spies... oh yeah!!!

ive never though Lorenzo was that entertaining really. Moe of a steady runner. Rossi and Spies can put on a show!

It was so good to see all the top boys pushing hard and fighting for every inch. Man of the match goes to Pedrosa for holding back Stoner for so long without flinching.
De Puniet was way out of control! Entertaining, but some of these two wheeled wobbles...
Mr Spies, you are going places.

If indeed Rossi crosses over to the dark side I think you're probably on the money...

.
Id kind of like to see him on a factory ride so he could pull those kind of antics amongst the Aliens
Don't think Kaycee would be too impressed but it would make for great entertainment.

I'm all for racers getting it way out of shape! Too bad if Stoner doesn't like it. Spies got dusted off pretty easily by Pedrosa and Stoner this time...best he gets it together before Laguna...I want beer from you.

Yeah but it didn't look like the kind of "out of shape" that gets you round the corner faster. Looked like the kind of "out of shape" that's a hair's breadth away from putting you into a low Earth orbit :shit: Certainly disrupted Dovi who looked like he was gathering himself for a run at Spies.
It almost looks like Ben is kind of spooked to be in front of them because once they're gone and he can settle... he's fast. Must be a seriously long time since he's not been the big dawg on the block. Maybe a good race when he trades punches with them will see him take the next step up. Hopefully not before Laguna :oi-grr:
