OK now to be berated and have numerous ppl post the threads i could find this in etc etc etc.
I did search .... Honest,
hell, i even remember reading it myself
How much is the new registration costs for a 250cc bike?, need to find out how desperately i need to find the extra cash to get 12 months rego rather than 6. I know it will cost me $157 extra under the old system which is what my new bike will be rego'd under.
Thanks in advance

Much appreciated for that Goonr, so only 43 bucks difference, not worth living on noodles for a fortnight to afford the extra now (but in prime date position for the next time Nicky tries this shit)

No worries,
Nah, forget the noodles go get beer and pizza. I guess it's the benefit of being on a small bike, we can still afford to drink beer, eat and ride!!

ACC Levy $297.70
ACC Safety Levy $30.00
Does anyone know what this "safety" charge is all about?

If I'm right that is the bit that is meant to go in to making riding a bike in NZ safer, I think the idea was for it to go towards rider training but I'm not sure how that is going to pan out.

This was something that was agreed on around BIKEOI last year. Problem is no one appears to know where that money is going, who is administering it, let alone what it is going to be spent on.

Hmmmmm !! should ask ACC they will know exactly where it is going, or maybe I could have a stab and say straight into the govt coffers...

Um, that was one of the main points of today's meeting in Auckland. Complete with postcards to mail to Mr Smith to ask him what he's doing with it, and suggest it should be spent on motorcycle training venues (or whatever else the poster-inner thinks is good).
And , yes, I'm sure the current thinking is "slush fund"

Superb. So we now have even more emphasis to NOT pay any form of ACC levy.
A money-grab operation that puts nothing back into direct rider education (as far as we can see). ACC, provide evidence to the contrary!
We know you fuckers read this forum. Get off your arse.

You might as well put the rego on hold over winter if you don't park your bike where parking wardens may see it. Since there are no demerits with a no rego infringement notice, you're better off getting stung twice than paying the ACC levies. Many cops will let you off with a warning as well instead of raping your bank account.

Have a look here - http://www.acc.co.nz/about-acc/overview-of-acc/how-were-funded/WPC086434
I have registered to receive further info because the whole thing sounds to me like a big crock of shit.

That link appears to be a bit selective, I registered my employment email and got an immediate confirmation email. I also being a little paranoid and wanting to ensure process registered my gmail address. Still waiting for confirmation on that one. ?

The guy on night shift is probably a bit busy after I posted the link. Either that or he is just winding up paranoid people.
If you are really concerned I would wait till you get to work and then register your gmail address from a different computer. But really, I don't think there is going to be any news for a while and when it comes out it will be like "ACC subsidise hi-vis vests for motorcyclists". With our own money. Fucks.

Interesting.
I read it as:
"Look what Victoria has done" (surprise, surprise):rolleyes::rolleyes:
blah, blah, blah,
"New excuse to place another tax on people":(:Oi::girlfight:
blah, blah, blah,
"instead of using our existing funding, which should be used for this precise tasking, we'll get bikers to fork out more $$$'s".
"It will take time to build up funds" which is no surprise. If the likes of RRRS can obtain some funding for the training that they provide, great!
But the funds are available right now. ACC isn't broke.:oi-grr:
