Hey everyone!
I am from sweden and have seeked some info here a while ago. Well if I should get to the point. I'm heading down to New Zealand in a months time to study and have been lookin here and on trademe for a bike. Since I'm sold on all VFR models that's what I am looking to get. Have been following this one http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Sports-tourer/auction-28154953.htm on Trademe for a while and for its age it looks nice, wrong color though. Has anyone seen it in rl? Waddaya reckon she is worth approx? I have a full license from Australia will I be able to ride any bike in New Zealand with that? I have a couple of unpaid speedingtickets on my license though. Maybe I should pay those first
Just like the one I used to have..... Loved it.

Very nice, not to many about in black and I like that. IMHO it does look very tidy milage very good for the year (not that it matters a shit with the VFR) but dont like the white wheels and it needs a after market can, price is ok.
Had two VFR's my self a 97 and 86, great bikes :niceone:
FWIW the 86 had 140,000km on it and the cams were still like new :ride:

That is a very nice looking bike indeed, i hate being on my learners
Looks good, could be a S/H Jap import though and may be down on power compared to the NZ models.

Agree black is the one or maybe white!!! Did you get the white model over in NZ? referring model between 90-93 The VFR is one classy looking bike when in white I reckon. Think most other bikes I've seen look rubbish in white, too much cop-bike then. Anyway it looks like the bike in the ad is green no? I myself had a nice red 93 when living in Australia. Sure she lacks an exhaust but i could live with that. So what do you think she is worth? thanks for quick response btw.
Sorry if my english isn't that great.

What you need is a VFR400!!!! :P NC30!!! :D
Nah, very nice bike indeed, but personally would only settle for an RC30 if went for the 750.
However can you get left hand mounted mufflers for these? like an aftermarket pipe that has the muffler come thru left hand side of bike.. as otherwise the muffler often defeats the quick access to the rear wheel...
Anyways good on yah, but yes does sound a bit pricey, the owner is prolly going on the fact that it does have Low K's, and it appears mint cosmetically.

I know the 400 is just one of the nicest pocket bikes around. Used to borrow a friend of mines and that bike handled like a dream I remember. But this time my aim is for a 750 from 90 and onwards cause I'm going to do a bit of touring with it as well with my missus. Pricey you think. Well you guys should know what these things cost over here. I'd say that the same bike over here would easily cost you between 6500 and 7000 bucks if service history and everything else about the bike is check. About the exhaust http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/003467/ yep looks like it is possible. But I've heard it is very rare. But It looks amazingly cool when you get to see the entire back wheel spinning. Almost like it was hovering.
Ok I have been busting my balls off for a year and a half to buy a bike when I get down and I'm going to purchase my bike cash. I'd be extremely happy to get that bike for 4000. The owner might not agree with that offer but it is a worth a try I guess. Thanx for helpin me out and please continue with suggetions and comments :niceone:

Think the standard muffler on that VFR750 actually swivels and bends up out of the way when loosened, if you need to access the rear wheel.
You can ride for up to a year in NZ on your Aussie licence. If your tickets are from NZ, they may grab you on entry for payment.

KK the muffler is on a bearing or summat---it kinda rotates outa the way -or as I discovered -if ya lay the bike down on it--into the wheel--ooops.

I cant see the add as the site is down but I think that the vfr's are ideal bikes for NZ, if not a vfr then a motard :D

Nope tickets are from OZ. I might just get a full New Zealand license instead.
