I find the best place to go to is camping stores. They often have a range of waterproofing products. I'd take along your jacket so they can see what it is made from.

But be carefull - some products end up putting on a polish. You don't want the seat of your pants with a polish otherwise you'll slip around on your seat.

You can also get overcovers for your gear for when the weather is really bad. This could be a better option.

Cordura will always leak in heavy rain unless you have a waterproof lining. By the sounds of it yours dont. Your money would be best spent on a 2 piece rain suit. Then you will be warm and dry.

It's wet boots that I hate most.

They take ages to dry.

i got dririder cordura pants with waterproof liner and a nerve jacket with waterproof liner. been in heavy rain and have kept me dry. so i dont have to worry about two piece suit and plus can get too hot over gear sometimes. hope you had a nice ride tho.

Went for a 200km ride this morning. From cental Ak to Kawakawa Miranda then back up the motorway.

It pissed down!!!

My Codura gear leaked to hell. FIN cold as.

Whats the name of that stuff you chuck in the wash to help waterproof your gear?

Is your gear old/dirty?

If so - irt can clog the fabric causing it to lose its waterproofness. If it's dirty try some Tech Wash - i think its from nikwax....

They take ages to dry.

Aint that the truth, mine are still damp inside from riding on Friday!!! Mind you, I've just had to apply copious amounts of epoxy in-between the front of the sole and the leather.

+1 on the 2 piece rainsuit over your gear. Nice and dry and toasty. I got mine from RD1 for $70. Don't rely on cheap cordura to stay waterproof in persistant heavy rain for as long as it takes to walk out the dealership door. You have been warned.

Guys if you want to dry your boots, stuff them hard full with newspaper. They will dry overnight.

I concur, I have been let down by my cordura, tho, not the Cordura brand, rather the numerous other brands available here in nz that look similar. I now have a 2 piece "Spool" set, which I inquired of from my local MC Postie.
I see my postie everyday, rain hail sleet or shine, sometimes it's bloody torrential, and he is still out there riding,and stayin dry.........

I happened to ask, him, how he liked the wet....... his response was, the only wet he gets is sweat in the summer. I asked him what he uses, and he said they get suplied with Spool gear every cpl years, and he does nothin to it, it just keeps workin.

I went out and got some, cost me $59 for pants, and $49 for the jacket, and another $29 for a winter liner that zips in as an extra.

Best money I have ever spent, I ride to work every day, and don't even think twice about needing change of gear at other end.

Don't be a tool, buy "SPOOL" lol.

This really does work

And if they're really wet or need them to dry in a hurry, change out the newspaper every couple of hours; make them dry faster. Used to do this with my soccer boots, went from soaked through Monday evening after traning to bone dry to take them to school for the game on Wednesday

It wont make your gear that isnt waterproof go waterproof, but if your gear is supposed to be water proof you should "hand wash" with this.

Will help the already waterproofness and clean and deodorise it without clogging up the pores.

and if your gear was bought brand new in jan, and its not doing what its supposed to do. you can always take it back if you're not satisfied.
