Looking to sell my VTZ, getting a new bike as soon as this sells and extremely impatient so dropped to 2k. 6 months reg as a couple days ago, WoF as of Sunday last week

Can deliver within the North Island for a reasonable portion of the expenses, as the new bike is in Wellington and I'm in Auckland, so cost will depend on how far out of the way it is.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=298277244&ed=true

Or a rundown of the ad

Can deliver within the North Island at buyers expense.

Positives:

* 6 gears

* 40hp

* New WoF as of listing - 20 June at VTNZ

* Flew through WoF, can provide sheet

* 6 months registration as of - 24 June (bought online, just waiting for tag to arrive, next couple days)

* Top speed 175km/h

* Oil change every 7k, last done 2k ago.

* Engine not leaking oil

* 100% reliable

* New chain

* Newish tyres

* 27km/L - Just over 300km on 11L before hitting reserve. 13L tank.

* V-twin - Forgiving on corners and great acceleration

* Reason for selling: Buying a new cruiser for my back.

* Starter motor is literally flicked to start the engine, hold it down no longer than a half second.

* Water cooled

* Not fighting with rust

* No dents/damage in metal(fuel tank/frame etc)

* No holes in exhaust

* No smoke from exhaust

* Never stopped while running

* Two road trips down to Wellington non-stop(excluding petrol) without a single issue, took about six and a half hours.

* Great to learn on (my first bike)

* Sounds great

* Can test ride

Negatives:
* Old

* Paint thinning on exhaust due to above, was black in 1988.

* That's it.

Heh thanks,

Yeah I found it fantastic but the back wins, oh, speaking of which, if anyone wants to trade will do so plus cash for a relatively new Hyosung Aquila GV250(2006+). Would beat getting one in Wellington and kill two birds with one stone.

I'm sure if you looked at it, you would be pushed over the edge, haha.

This video is what pushed me over the edge to buying a VTZ, from about the two minute mark onwards, note they're all street legal(as far as I can tell, indicators and number plates are the giveaway sign).

Nice bike, but I'm not too sure about the 40hp part of it.

Same motor as the Spada, which is always reported as 40. Has an extra gear and higher redline than the VTR.

Here's the original Honda Spec Sheet from their 1988 Press Release

Showing 40hp

And the original Spada Spec sheet if you want to compare. Body wise it's slightly bigger, with a larger fuel tank than the Spada, engine is identical down to the gear ratios.

Still around, although I can't imagine as many bikes trade hands in Winter.

Last try, probably take it off the market otherwise.

spring mate early summer and she'll get snapped up, not a good market at the moment

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Although used bikes are selling cheap due to the time of year and people are more negotiable. It makes it harder to sell mine, but means I can pick up a cheaper bike in return if I can sell it. So really if you're in the market, now's the time to buy. Just have to brave the cold for a while.

Unfortunately, not everyone thinks the same way.
