Has anyone put 17" spoked wheels on a GL 145?...no use re inventing the wheel

I was comparing the GL to the a rear XR200 rim and they both have 36 spokes and the same pattern... is it just a matter of getting 1/2" shorter spokes and relacing?

probably should just get it running first.....

I am sure with the guys here who have done that the spokes were shortened to suit, it cost them about $70-80 a wheel

The angle the holes are drilled at can differ between rims because of having different size hubs but that was sorted by the guy who laced the wheels as well

There is a guy in Howick that can do this and its about $70 a rim plus spokes... this is a good option, I looked in to this and could not find any thing for the front.. what have you found suitable?

let me know if you want the spok dudes number and email addess?

I haven't looks beyond seeing the XR200 is the same spoke pattern and 17", thought It might have been done previously. Cheers

I'm not sure about onto a GL hub but they've been used on just about every other bike down here
