ZXR250C Question

I just bought this bike like several months ago, I looked all the ZXR250Cs for sale on TradeMe the speedo only goes up to 180kmh on all of them but mine goes to 240kmh.

I just wondering if the speedo has been changed from another model maybe to hide its real mileage ?

May be Malaysian assembled, is it 1999-2004, they were made in japan 1991-1998 then made in malaysia, I think they changed the stroke and had a 240kph speedo may be other changes ?

You'd be lucky to get it over a REAL 180kmh. Most speedos tend to be quite optimistic, so you might get an INDICATED 200kmh.

The bike is only a 1992 model and no I havent got the balls to try the top speed yet since this is my first bike and im still learning to ride :)

Once you feel confident at heavy braking, find a good, long straight road with no other traffic and top it out. It helps if you put your chest against the fuel tank. Take it easy for now!

sounds like it may have a different speedo maby a zxr400 ???
they look the same on the 89-90 models not sure about the C
