Hi viz vests for everyone. Ha ha ha. All the money will go in to a big bucket, ACC will print another load of pamphlets and a few DVD's and retain 99% of the money. I mean, what benefit is someone with 5, 10, 20 years riding experience going to get from this ? Sod all. Being optimistic I can see improved training for new riders being very worthy, but that won't come from ACC. They don't even know who the target markets is, considering the figures they were throwing around last year. If you are going to have a differential levy based on engine size I can't for the life of me see how they can suddenly have a blanket figure of $30 for everyone.
I'll stick with the scabby hooker please.

I think the area letting us down the most is rider education. The roading network is already getting a shit load of cash spent on it.
So yeah, I'd like to see a lot more allocated to rider education.

But ACC money is not spent on roading...
As for what is, I'd hazard a guess that much of it is wasted on needless 're-alignments' and the like. Boring, easy to drive roads introduce a whole new set of dangers, which makes a mockery of the amounts spent.
I guess ACC will find a way to waste our $30 too.

Some ideas for discussion,
A subsidised rider training program.
Recognition for being accident free ( ACC claim) through lower registration fees.
Must complete a training program if involved in an accident, should also apply to cage drivers.

Something else i'd like to see, in regards to education is the oft overlooked machine itself. It has been pointed out in several other posts, but as this is the place to put my orders in for spending money, i'd like to see riders educated in regards to motorcycle setup and how a motorcycle handles in different conditions (before they get anywhere near a machine... that should be on a test), tyres being of most import... Not an indepth class etc... but more of a general, great tyres, crap suspension can equal disaster on a cold day...
Another thing i'd like to get into the heads of those who don't know, is making sure that they understand how tyres operate in different weather conditions, both with good and bad suspension... i.e. make sure they tyres are up to running temp before cornering at greater angles (not knee draggin Katman, just cornering)... The only way I found this "knowledge" was by joining a website... I wouldn't have even thought about suspension setup or the temperature of my tyres in regards to the riding conditions if it wasn't the major tpoic of the forum (not this one)... pretty sure you can see what I mean... an A, B, C of mental "safety" checks if you like before you commit to the action...

Split it 50/50 between that and this, and I'd agree whole-heartedly.
