if that's for real... that shows some mighty fine skills. did you use a tripod or was it handheld - not that it matters even if it was on a tripod that's still some mighty fine tracking skills.

That is a brilliant shot! How slow a shutter speed is 'slow'??
Awesome pic Phil, always like this style pic, a real action shot.
Do you have to slow the shutter down and 'track' the rider through the shot? Hence the clear rider but blurred background?

Cheers, I enjoy panning and using low speed shutter in MX. I like my pix to have plenty of movement in them... I don't mind a bit of blurr.... I only have me to please, unlike the pros...

Hand held, though I'm keen to try a mono-pod. One day I'll splash out on a remote flash system, would make this sort of pic really take off.....

I've seen the odds of winning lotto somewhere, not sure actually buying a ticket improves them much, but might try it one day.......

Yup, you missed a good one, fairly short track with not a lot of riders, didn't cut up as much as usual...
