Good one looking out for bargins, but from an industry perspective Dont Buy cheap oil filters

NOT a good idea. You will create more problems and issues for your engine.....I could go on.

Buy OEM or quality ones

Saw that myself this morning.

I'm kind of stuck somewhere between worth a crack at $20 and you get what you pay for.

Probably leaning towards you get what you pay for, after all if a deal seems too good to be true then it probably is.

They list a filter for an XL250 82-87 which is where mine fits, I thought it only had a filter screen rather than a proper filter?

my xr is supposed to have oil and filter changed every 1500km so im going to try out the filters. hopefully they arent in there long enough to do any damage

road bikes would have longer filter change intervals wouldnt they? so maybe a cheaper filter would not be a good option then?

I 've bought a few items from T7 and they aren't generally a $2 shop type place selling junk, they usually have good stuff at some quite good one day deals.

Only problem here for me would be four of them would be wasted. I'd install the first one, put the rest away for safekeeping and promptly lose them.

I know, I know...

Multiply your oil changes if your using cheap filters pepes

I just bought two from my usual bike shop for $32 and according to the part number(same as the ones on T7) they are a Hiflo filter and as far as i know they are ok,and at that price you could put in a new filter with every oil change for peace of mind

Nah don't think they are either.

There is quite a big mark up on oil filters, chances are there the same that most bike shops sell.

I suspect they are hiflo-filtro brand, too. At least, they are using their part numbers!! Decent enough after-market filters.

I'd buy some if they had my second filter, HF156, but I get both in the KTM kit at a bargain price anyway.

Do KTM do filter change kits for the 4T EXCs like they do for the LC4? Has both filters plus all necessary gasket, o-rings & copper sealing washers to cover all models... for less than the price of just the two filters.

What Quasi said. be careful with cheap filters. We cut open a cheap automotive oil filter a few months back and it was hollow i.e. nothing inside at all. Was cheap though.

Not saying the t7 ones aren't any good, but it just reminded me thats all.

hmmm just got my pack of filters from torpedo7, HF155 and HF157 for a KTM.

don't think they're hiflofiltro's.

the pic is a HF157 from the hilfo website.

i've got a hiflofiltro HF157 as sold by supercheap auto, this hasn't got the wrap round plastic thing as in the picture but seems like it's ok quality with HF157 and a batch code stamped on the filter.

the torpedo7 one is crap.

it has no markings on it. big globs of glue between the filter folds at the top and bottom. the bottom metal end's thickness varies between 5 and 6.5mm.

no way i'm putting these in my bike and will try to return them to torpedo7.

later: just had a look at torpeo7's return policy and it all looks good, they'll accept them back with no questions asked.
