I just got back from the States, I could not get over the dickheads riding around with just a back protector and helmet, nothing else!! No gloves, boots jacket pants, and on closer inspection chicken strips the size of the southern motorway! Yes it was warm, but not so warm as not to have the right gear on, fuck the cops must scrape some shit off the roads over there. Nevada was worse, with many not wearing helmets, asit is not illegal inthis state. Iwas gobbed smacked. Well thats the yanks for you! each to thre own I suppose.

Haha I always wanted to do that to Mums Ford Escort. Brought back some memories...
Good on them too. Obviously with big chicken strips they are riding sensibly and are comfortable with their level of risk. Leave them be. Just because some have to get to the edge of the tyres on the morning commute here doesn't mean every one rides so immaturely.

WTF did he cut the hole in his fairing with? A cheese grater?? :slap:That was my first thought... I mean, the idea itself isn't completely off the charts... loud/quiet at the flick of a button has its merits... but why ruin the bike to do that?!?! And mounting the actuator on something that moves... I mean COME ON!!!

It reminds me of the mods my ex made to the exhaust on my old Bros. It sounded heaps better, but the welding job wasn't pretty...
My son made an additional modification by dropping a plastic clothes peg down the pipe...when I was selling it and the new owner was just about to ride away!

:thud: reckon that'll be the first point of ground contact now when cornering? (not that squids generally achieve much angle), also wtf is wrong with a straight through can? is gixxer 6 so wont be that loud unless you're thrashing it. Right on the collector bad idea, mounting the actuator to a moving part also bad idea.

old tyres work good as well, checked my clutch fibres in the weekend, don't have to drain the oil if it's leant over, also easier to use the meter long powerbar on the main nut too!
and no that doesn't count as thudfuckery :bleh:

if you are doing that, be careful taking off the swing arm, it'll move the center of gravity above the pivot axis (from tie downs on rear subframe to front wheel contact patch) and makes the bike want to flip over. Probably shouldn't do it with a full tank of gas either.

Then you go on reading the posts on the Kawi forum and you're like.... for real man.... someone can't possibly waste that much time and energy on a spoof. "FARK... maybe the kid is for real" springs to mind.... now I'm confused. Real or unbelievably fake? The funny thing is that he has a couple of good ideas with terrible execution.... then some horrendous ideas.... then some stuff that he does with intricate shapes that actually kind of turn out better than they should for someone who's doing other stuff, so stupid that you wonder how he ever figured out some of the other stuff that he did. The dude is a giant contradiction.

Nope, he's for real, some of the guys on the 10 site have met him, and there's plenty of vids of the bike where you can see all the frame holes and stuff that'd be bloody hard to fake. Not sure about all the other non-bike stuff tho...

From what I hear in California, once you pass your BHS there is no limit to what sort of bike you can ride. So, it's not uncommon to see guys on Hayabusas who have only just got the hang of riding. Then they crash and blame the bike.

I'm not 100% sure what a BHS is however, in most places in North America you can ride whatever you like once you pass a parking lot test. YES, IT IS A JOKE!!!! but it is real. Most places in Canada have a bit more to it than that, but it is still ludicrous. So this is how our system works..
- written test, you have to redo the rules of the roads and signs (even if you have a car licence already) plus the written motorcycle test. This get's you your M1. Restrictions include, no highway, no nights, no passengers, 0 alcohol... there are NO bike restrictions, and it is valid for 90 days.
- then within those 90 days you have to get your M2.... it is a parking lot test.... and a half decent test, but there is still no bike restriction. In fact the only restriction you have is 0% alcohol. This licence is valid for 5 years, but you can go for your FULL M within 18months (no sooner) of getting the M2.
So ya, we have a ton of newbies that scare themselves right out of motorcycling, because they bin their GixR6ZXRR after a few months of getting over confident. Lots of folks also suggest a 600 supersport is a great beginner bike.... they worry they'd get bored of an SV650 or a GS500e... that would just make no sense you know.... why buy a bike that you are going to sell in 1 year... or 2. Some listen, most don't.

I don't think Shervin need ridicule, i think he is probably either taking the piss or has a mental disorder. I would guess the latter and that he is either mentally retarded or has some kind of psychotic manic symptoms or something. Either way i'd feel bad making fun of him. Just looking at the work hes done in making this muffler it is reminiscent of what a 12 year old would make. To believe its worth publishing on the net he has to have something wrong with him. Either that or he has a expensive sense of humor.

So he does accept that he doesn't always achieve the kind of perfection that he presents with his bike posts.
