Hi everyone
New biker passed BHS and now have learners license. I have a Bandit 250 to learn on.
Anyway, I'm looking for some fellow learners in Orewa, Silverdale, Red Beach, Stanmore Bay, Whanga area to hook up with ..
If there are any and you are interested in hooking up please let me know - wanting a more social learning to ride experience than a lonely one.
I'm new to NZ, only been here for a year - imported from UK.
Thanks
Welcome to KB mate, even if you are a pom.

Welcome fella, I'm not a millions miles away from you but Midget GOONR2 is due any day now so rides are not on the cards for a little while.. When I get some free time I'll give you a shout.
I would go to the NASS (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/77111-North-Auckland-Street-Skills-NASS?) thing if I had the time, it's recommended by quite a few on here.
Which part of the UK you from?

Hi GOONR, congrats on the impending addition to your family.
You are right, you aren't that far away from me so that would be pretty good when you are back on the road.
I'll check out the NASS thing too. Thanks for that.
I'm from Liverpool by the way. Where abouts you from ?

Cheers ya dirty scouser!!! Only joking, I'm a filthy southerner, London. I've spent a fair bit of time in Liverpool, one of my best mates was from there and I did a bit of work in Wavertree many moons ago.
You will find other people to ride with before I get any time to myself, I'm sure of that. Enjoy the bike and stay sunny side up aye!

Welcome. Safe riding - go for NASS.
Apparently the latest Doctor (Who) is the best ever - I come from a previous era though.

The new Doctor Who's aren't that great. The 'new' Doctor Matt Smith is OK, but he's just not had very good scripts. He's also very good at over-acting.
I think if he had been given the scripts that Tennant had he would be a lot better.

I'd give the TARDIS a go if I ever have the chance but would probably take my bike out for a ride afterwards. :scooter:

If the TARDIS goes back in time, shouldn't it be called the RETARDIS ?

We ran some rides for 250cc riders down in Wellington last Summer (not that Wellington actually had a summer!) Proved very popular and became a weekly ride for any self professed novice.
Basically of any age, experience - new/returning to riding etc and various bike CC sizes keen to ride with bigger bikes at road legal speeds aimed at getting the confidence up.
Although I work a rotating shift pattern I am happy to get involved in doing these again and help out with building more social rides for anyone keen to get into biking that doesn't want to join the faster social rides currently available.
Can run it on an ad-hoc, "when we can" kinda style.... probably the odd week night here and there.

I'd be keen, I commute to town on the bike every day so do mostly motorway riding. Any help to build confidence on the open road with a slower group would be appreciated.

Okay, will get something started shortly. Basically once these things get set up they just build their own momentum. Worked very well down in Wellington.
Easiest thing to do is just post up rides for the group under "meetings and events" forum whenever time and weather etc permit.
I will set up something for the Rodney District and mix it up between urban and rural roads.
