In the pissing down rain on a borrowed vtr250 with stuffed carbs but I still had fun.

That aside, I just got insurance through kiwibike for my 07 gsxr1000 and im only paying $850 a year (works out to $956 doing monthly payments) for full cover insured for $14000. And im also only 21.

I feel this is very reasonable.

Please let me know if you think its not and where else to look for bike insurance.

Well done on the full. That crick in your neck should disappear now...
That ins sounds very reasonable for your age etc.

Cheers mate,

Yeah looking forward to being able to cruise at a higher speed and only worry about speeding tickets.

Bought it july 09 so just over 1 year.

Im going to wellington for a holiday end of the month and Ill be doing the rounds of all the bike shops and test riding whatever catches my eye. As much as i like my thou, ive always wanted to try buell and ducati etc. Not that ill find any buells for sale.

congratulations. This is something I'm looking forward to myself as well. Just a couple of months for my restricted... then a long time till I can go full.
Having fun with my 250 anyway.
Nice choice on big bike btw, I love Buells too :)

Cheers mate,

Yeah i picked up the special edition for a real bargain. And luckily a fellow kiwibiker was keen to buy my zx6r off me at the time so it made the transition from 600-thou very easy. Didnt have a bike for all of about 2 days.

The best part about buells is the sound and the riding position i feel. My thou is a bit of hard work after a couple of hours. Just start to get a lot of niggling areas etc.

It'll be hard to strip away from my bike though. I turned down a trade for an 04 rsvr factory with a 1060cc big bore kit.

Oooh congrats on getting your full! I pay about half that for insurance through kiwibiker which is remarkable given my age. Smaller/older bike though as you know.

You should carry on through to Christchurch when you come down to Wellington :D

Shit you paying around 500 for full insurance on the zx6r? Mind you, you probably only have it insured for around 6?

For every $1000 cheaper i insured my bike, the premiums would go down $50 (give or take a buck) a year.

Settled on 14000 since i have $1000 excess so that would leave me with $13000 to get another bike similar and put on an exhaust etc.

Going down to welly in the car.. new one i just got.. 2000 ss commodore.. definately going to be prefered over the bike with all the crap wellington weather

Yeah, just under 500 and it's fully insured for 6.

Good call on taking the car, weather is awfully crap at the moment. Not much better South!
