Hi All

There is a possibility for the AMCC to have some racing at Hampton Downs for the 2010 / 2011 season. Obviously there is a cost to this and it is more than the cost than the rounds at Pukekohe.

The AMCC have put up a poll on their website to help them gauge how much people can afford or are prepared to pay to race at Hampton Downs. Go through to www.amcc.org.nz and make your vote.

When looking at this too guys - realise the extra expense there is when riding at Hampton Downs. This could be an awesome opportunity for riders (and sidecars).

Choice one! I reckon we have to use it - not much point in the poor buggers building that awesome facility and then us not going there. I'm sure you've looked into it, but what about drumming up some sponsors for the series if you think price will put people off?
I love Pukekohe too, so 50/50 split I reckon.
I thought sidecars were banded from Hampton Downs after the last episode:shutup:

I'd say you'll get more further affield competitors with a round at HD Leanne, I know a few Wellington riders that would make the journey.

As to what they can afford, I've no idea but luckily the AMCC gives excellent advance notice of its race dates that people can easily plan ahead.

AMCC will do everything they can to keep the costs down and I agree with Sharky that a 50 / 50 spilt would be awesome.

AMCC are in the process of talking to as many potential sponsors as they can and looking into all potential funding sources.

AMCC hopes to have the dates for all it's club rounds available next month - they are still in negotiations with the tracks to get finalised dates.

I agree people want to ride at this track - so get online and make your vote so the AMCC can try to make it doable for everyone!!!!

Sharky - SIDECARS RULE!!!!!!

True - I'd be prepared to hike up from Wellies for a HD meet

Great stuff PB...I'll most likely enter. As a sidenote, are you checking with PMCC for when they are looking at doing their BRM Summer Series too...would be good if we were able to do both the AMCC rounds and the PMCC ones!

Most clubs try to do their best to work together an organise meetings on different days. I guess though you need to be aware that 9 out of 10 times we get given dates by the track owners and don't usually have a lot of say in the dates we are given :innocent:

Dunno if they'll let you do the AMCC round Biggles - you're a bit mean to them  Our new President may be a bit more sensitive than the old one :bleh:

Good stuff AMCC. Using Hampton Downs has to be the way forward. Equal rounds at Pukekohe and Hampton Downs would be my vote, but I guess we need to find out what people are willing to pay or if the field would be bigger...
Avoiding PMCC dates would be great too, but as far as I know these haven't be released yet.

They have their dates sorted but are waiting for MNZ permit before releasing.

Zero rounds at Puke would be my vote. Rock on Hampton Downs.

I see on the AMCC facebook page that Rnd1 will be held at HD, nothing on their website tho. Any idea on entry fees etc?

Road Race Committee meet Thursday, things should start falling into place following that re cost and entry forms etc
My best guess would be $200 - $225 ish but lets wait and see.
