I'm looking to book a restaurant/bar on the North Shore for my 18th. Looking early August at the moment just after my birthday. Anyone got any suggestions? Can't be too expensive and obviously must have a bar :innocent:

Not too expensive? Try that Mongolian BBQ place - Gengy's - on Northcote Road. Not the best place I've been to, but it's all you can eat, and lincenced.

Maybe a bit nicer than that place! Gave me food poisoning :p I would probably say a place with a variety of mains with prices ranging from$15 to $25??? But I really don't have any ideas because my family doesn't really go out that much!

the Poenama Pub bottom of Lake Road from memory, the AB's stayed there during the infamous '81 tour.

You mean the meat market?

Copper Room in Takapuna is/was (haven't been there for a few years) pretty good - great food, reasonable prices and turns into a good place to dance your arse off later in the night.

+1 for Copper Room, I haven't been there for a little while either but it's always been a good night out. Well it is if your mate doesn't get thrown out for jumping on the bands drums while they are on a beer / smoke break.

If you're willing to fork out $40 for a big, fat main, I would suggest Lone Star.
Seriously, I've never eaten such a big meal in my life. Cajun chicken with chips + Lemon tartare.
God-tier meal.
