Have a VZ and im wanting to put spot/foglights in where they should go as im didnt come with them , i have heard from holden that there is a problem doing this with aftermarket ones as i want them to look like the ss ones .
Has anyone done this and wired them up without issues .

umm...if your vz hasn't got genuine fog lamps it's also dosn't have a genuine holden fog lamp switch which the bcm(body control module and genuine fog lamp switch) turns said fog lamps on/off, no biggie on the retro fit side of things but will require a relay and an on off switch etc, go visit your local auto sparky

Wouldn't mind my old XB Fairmont on lpg, except for the rust in it lol,but think the old holden and coons were good to learn skills for sure, power steer nope(well fairmont did) and usually great brakes in the fords.

I'm not biased - I have a Toyota (but it was given to me, cost nothing) but the rest of the cars (4 or 5) are all Fords although one is a 'Japanese Ford', still got the F100 I bought in 1974.
Also had Vauxhall, Triumph, Fiat - and 1/2 a Chev in the past.
And no stify, ya don't need to feel sorry for me.....:D

Do these spotlights serve any function?
Or do they just look good?
(And annoy the pus out of oncoming drivers)

Provided you can get them mounted properly (iirc, Holden bumpers have a hole) - is there a reason they can't be hooked up to the headlight circuit?

""Fog lamps should only be used when visibility is severely reduced, eg by snow or fog. It is against the law to use fog lamps in clear conditions (day or night) as they can dazzle other road users.""

Driving lights aren't strictly fog lamps. When we've had vehicles with them fitted, we've kept them on all the time. It reduces the SMIDSY moments.

thats absolute bullshit because proper foglights are LEAST likely to cause dazzle problems as they are low mounted downward pointing floodlights,NOT DRIVING OR SPOTLIGHTS that a lot of manufacturers mount to the front of their vehicles.

Had a Supercharged commie myself, the rely required should already exist, the plugs for the holden foglights already exist behind the front spoiler, you just need to buy the switch (not cheap) but you could use an alternative, and cut it in to the dash. The foglights are really good in fog when main lights are on park mode and fog lights doing the work, low and wide spread, but illegal to be used with main headlights, but hey, with all the jap cars with daylight lamps etc it is easy to believe that fog lights when used with main beam will eventually be the leading factor of death on our roads, as soon alcohol and speed will be completely illiminated as promised by the powers that be.
PS the foglights will be (should) tested at WOF time for the correct alignment.
