This is NOT bout what music you like or youtube vids you want others to see.

This is re what was the last album you bought or downloaded.

What was it, why did you get it, and is it any good?

Mine was Mudvayne's Black Light. Can't get this one in NZ so had to import from US.

What a fucking ball braking album!!!

Reason I got it: Have all their other albums and really love their shit. So once this one was out there I just had to have it!

Just now sitting and listening to it full noise on stereo and having a JD (or two...) and find that each time I listen to it I change my mind re what song I like most.

Baroness - Blue Record.

Awesome. Progressive Metal which is a step in a heavier direction from their last album. And yes, I purchased it.

IMHO Mudvayne were never gonna beat L.D. 50. Mainstream called, and they answered with "Happy?"

Last complete album was The Boxer Rebellion - Union.

They first came to my attention as the core band for the "Long Way Down" soundtrack. Some good stuff on the Union Album.

Wavering Radiant from Isis

Some seriously insane, melodic heavy tunes. Tool, with less skill and more grind, in short.
Grabbed it on recommendation from a mate. Worth a listen IMO.

BLAM!

Didn't realise they had a new album out. That'll be my next. Oceanic and Panoptican were incredible albums. You should try Baronness too. Start on the "Red Album"

Mark Knopfler - Get Lucky.

The complete ANTI-headbanger album.
Beautiful music with an often Celtic or Northern flavour and melancholic themes. Occasional rocky offering too.
It even has one song that will become a Funeral favourite for anyone of Scots heritage, either the first or the last album of the night - but on the whole it's exactly the sort of relaxing music I enjoy for work and to write to.

The car was the one.

This is re what was the last album you bought or downloaded.

What was it, why did you get it, and is it any good?

Bought: Bullet for my Valentine - Fever.
'Cos my son wanted it.
Dunno, don't think I've even heard it. But then it was in the "meh! tal" section so my expectations are not high. (But according to young master it was misfiled).

Last album I bought for myself? Honestly can't remember. Might have been a bargain bin Magazine album from The WareWhare. Maybe Correct Use of Soap? If that was it, then yes, it is very good indeed, if one is in the mood for it. (Or have I had that for years? Dunno. Still can't make up my mind if Magazine or The Cure were the best band ever).

Last album I downloaded? Actually a song, not an album: The Only Ones - Another Girl, Another Planet. Just because.

Some time ago the music agenda in the house was affected by what I like. Then my son got a guitar, so now we tend to hear a lot of the same song over and over again. Current playlist is Bless the Fall (or BlessTheFall, or something) - Pray. Yes, just the one.

('snot bad though, if I'm honest.... might find a home on an appropriately lined up playlist in the future).

Cos Dio is a legend and I liked the almost DOOM grind feel of the album. Candlemass is next on my list.

Ozzy-Scream.

Bought it at the BP in Otaki and needed something to distract me from mulling over the job interview I had just been to in Wellington.

God damn wish I hadn't, I knew it wouldn't be very good but did not expect it to so be shit. Seriously shit. A full face drenching in shit shit, thats how shit it is.

Production-Shit. My speakers nearly died on the first song, sounded like the tracks being torn off a tank as it went over a stack of steel beams. Had to pull over and mess with the settings to get it to a point where I could listen to it. Then a robot voice track kicked in.Fuck me dead.

Lyrics-Just shit. He's got nothing to say so he's just mouthing crap. Scream and Soul Sucka are two of the worst offenders but the rest never rise above shit. People who take no notice of lyrical content may enjoy, But this is a low point for Ozzy, fucker has sung some of the best lyrics ever penned, How the fuck he accepts this crap is beyond me (Oh wait, He's fucked and its all about money)

Vocals-Ozzy doesn't so much sing as just mouth the words and then they have heavily digitized every single word, to the point that his delivery is a monotone that has been enhanced to give melody and variance by computer. Fuck everyone who worked on this album, You suck sticks of shit.

Music-100 percent forgettable. They band do get a chance to pound away in the middle of the disc, but not for long, and its distorted by the production.

Don't buy the album if you value your memory of Ozzys legacy.

Real departure from other stuff as a lot of the tracks are co-written. Moves on from the classic '22 Dreams' and really makes an impact. Going to see him live in October, should be good

Hard to say, I'm known to be overly harsh in my opinions and the album does have some good reviews.

To me its on the level of nickleback.

considerin the fact that I am a HUGE Lynyrd Skynyrd fan (redneck all the way there) most covers of LS seem to rub me the wrong way, but Shinedown did an excelent rendition of it...really like that song...

Machine Head

Interesting. 'Machine Head' is one of the foundation albums of all mainstream heavy metal.
Arguably the first to enjoy commercial success. Depending on your Iron Buterfly, Uriah Heap and Black Sabbath opinion.

Yea - I meant interesting that a band would use the name. I checked em out - cool

Just seems akin to a pop band calling themselves 'Sgt Peppers'.

Madness "Liberty of Norton Folgate"

I know there's not many Ska fans around these parts, so I won't bang on too much but it's not what you might expect from "The Nutty Boys". It's almost a concept album with a much darker melancholic feel than most people will associate with Madness. Even if you don't like the band, you've got to give them credit for avoiding the scooter rally nostalgia circuit playing "Baggy Trousers" to fat blokes in harringtons and DM boots.

I don't know how, or why, but Suggs has a way of making me feel homesick about a city I never particularly liked living in.

my last download was My Morning Jacket "Z" actually all four of their studio albums.

Trying hard to like them, but not really succeeidng. I love the song "One Big Holiday" from "It Still Moves" but Jim James voice and the VOX on his vocal give me the shits.

Really liking The Black Keys "Brothers" also.
