Just bought a Hyosung GV250 2nd hand through a dealer. My previous bike was a VL250 which had no fuel gauge but the Hyosung has.
Now, I've only done 70 odd km's on this bike and it arrived with the gauge showing a full tank, however the gauge is now in the red.
I feel I should be getting 200-220kms on a full tank of gas so ther questions are:
1 - is the gauge reading wrong and how do I adjust it, or
2 - I have a very thirsty bike, far too thirsty to be honest.
Anyone have any ideas on this?
Cheers all, appreciated

Silly question but have you tried eyeballing the fuel level to see if it matches what the gauge is saying?

Yeah mate, done all that. There seems to be enough fuel in the tank hence my suspicion that it is reading wrong maybe..????
I rememebr someone saying ride it till it runs out keeping an eye on the trip counter then switch to reserve and fill the bastard up again, much better than a fuel gauge. I was just surpiorsed how quickley the gauge jumped down to the red.
Mate, if I am being a thick fat pommie bastard then please say so....

Hi,
I had the same problem when I brought my GT650R, Problem was found to be the fuel sensor under the tank, I have heard many problems with the hyosungs doing this, I just got TSS in alicetown to fit a new sender and its nows reads well.
But I agree, I still use my trip meter as a better guide. and I can get 270-300 and still have one bar left before the red, You should get at least this...maybe more

That's the way I do it but then I don't have a gauge. Just zero the trip counter at each fill.

Just bought a GV250, I've found the fuel gauge only applies to the bottom quarter or so of the tank. So it will read full til it hits that point, then represents about 5 or so litres. Which is enough in NZ to get yourself to the nearest petrol station.
Could be there was only enough petrol in there before to just show the tank full.

My gt250r runs around all the time on E as the thing doesn't read properly.
When it does display something, that is when I fill up. Finding that it clicks on at about 7 litres left yet says a full tank.
