A few years back there were reports that a US company planned to manufacture a US sportsbike using the engine from the Hyosung GT650 series. Well, they're now in full production! You can see all the details here:

AUD $13,995 makes for one very expensive Hyosung.

Swingarm is a bit curious. As is the tail end. And the choice of engine. Dry weight of 175kg isn't bad, but it certainly isn't light given the size of the engine. And the tank looks about as comfortable as a hernia.

And the way they call it the only American sports motorcycle is a bit off.

I think it would be interesting to see one in person.

Hyo is injected these days.
I too was under the impression it was the SV's engine...

Well you are both wrong. There's quite a difference between the Hyo and suzuki engines.

My bad. A bit of dodgy research points to: Hyosung used to make parts under license for Suzuki and the engineer used to work for Suzuki. The architecture is quite similar but they are different, contrary to popular rumour.

Kinda funny, I used to think if it had an SV donk it can't be tooooo bad....looks like I might have to reconsider.....

Snob. Suzuki's aint that great especially when you're talking a budget bike like the SV.

Good to see an american bike builder for a change that realises sports bikes are meant to be light and nimble and don't need to be powered by a huge lump of V-twin or a V-10 viper or a Huey gas turbine.

But it also looks like Hyosung forks on the thing.!

Ohlins shock with Hyosung forks...??? :blink:

Haha, no snob here. A few years back I spent 8 months in Korea and saw some of the shocking heaps of shit that Hyosung, Daelim etc churn out. Most of that time I spent in a shipyard commissioniong an offshore gas platform and that is also a heap of shit and hearing about our sister facility being built in another shipyard. Some of their proposals to solve problems or ways of approaching tasks would have your hair standing on end. These are facilities handling explosive liquids and gases, so I'm afraid their ability to produce a quality product doesn't fill me with confidence.

Compare the bore and displacement with that of the Hyosung GT650. I believe you'll find that this is a differnet engine, hence the 80 bhp output. There are also different colour options apart from the current "Solar Fury". Note that it's got a short wheelbase of only 1397mm and has a dry weight of 167kg.

I've heard the 2010 Hyosung 650 supposedly puts out ~80hp.
Mind you that's also EFI, whereas the Fischer is carb'ed right?

I hope you won't mind my saying, but your intentions in the new bike model section seem a little... Fischy, at times Hillbilly
