Getting this up to help Hondacmx450 get an idea of what times would be good to set up weekly rides. What days of the week would be most likely for you to show up for a ride? What length of a ride would be good keeping it to a few hours or so. What time of the day? After a few days I'll take the ones that are posted the most and put it on a poll for you to vote on.
As for routes and stuff we can decide that when the ride is comming up but go ahead and make suggestions.

I prefer weekends, around lunchtime. Allows a little time to get some heat in the road.
I've past riding in the rain (and at night), so if the weathers crap i don't ride.

Are there many Rotorua people here ? i have only seen 1 or 2
Yeah well being winter Im not too keen for after work rides seeing as how it would be dark. Not really so much fun, specially when its cold and raining!
So would go for the weekends. Plenty of good rides about the place, length of rides would vary I guess depending on what was organised.
Bring back summer and after work rides when it's light untill 9.00!!

Got a baby on the way in the next few weeks, so am on a tight leash.
But weekends are best time, anywhere is good as long as the weather is too.
Cant promise to make it to every ride, but will give it a good try.
Havnt ridden for 6 weeks now, am starting to go nuts, only going to get worse too!!!

So, so far we have weekends around lunch time. I think what Bruce wants to get these up to is a ride plus a dinner/lunch maybe. Start things off with just a ride at first.

Be a bit of a ride to rotorua isn't it? Cambrudge and them arn't more than 30 minutes away. And going to Tauranga is a bit borring till you get to the Kaimais(sp) Might be a different route than what I take though. Throw out some ideas mate.

Maybe even out to Raglan? Or save that for next summer and tie in some swimming, and other beach activities. Bah worry about that later. As for those who's sayin it's too cold for a ride, butch up. lol. Anyway I'm bored. There isn't crap on tv right now and not tired. I think I'll turn the bike over a bit, and maybe ride round the neighborhood.

Ahhh, I've seen it before...the crazy frog addiction, careful there Bruce he'll love you and leave you. Just throwing myself in here to help raise some interest, always a good time to be had with Bruce and his crew. After this week anytime is good for me, would be great to catch up with some more riders.

good to see theres heaps of bikers keen on rides around the waikato!! i would join in but my bike is in race trim but, i can suggest a good ride.
will be a couple of hours but its a good ride that covers all types of riding. go around mt maungatautari from cambridge and out to arapuni and back towards kihikihi. its a complete circle from Te awamutu its a little more than 100km round trip.
i will keep an eye out and hopefully join in at the end of the year! :ride:

Howzit guys? Cool to see a few more Hamiltron-region bods on the site, I havent visited for awhile, last time I looked there weren't this many I'm sure. I'm definately keen for a hook-up sometime. Suprised I havent see you on the Maungatautari loop JohnBoy coz I tend to get round it most weeks.
I'm sure we've all got loads of favourite loops, but I'll throw in a couple of mine I tend to ride regularly on long lunch-hours or weekends to get away from the 4-wheelers...
1. Hamilton - Scotchmans Valley - Morrinsville - Mangateparu - Gordonton - Hamilton (reasonably open most of the way, but interesting, not too much traffic)
2. Hamilton - Pirongia - Tihiroa - Te Kawa - Waikeria - Wharepapa - Kihikihi - Hamilton (fast-ish route, more open, good condition, not much traffic, but more law presence)
3. Hamilton - Kaipaki - Leamington - Maungatautari - Arapuni - then down old Taupo rd as far as you have time and back again (tight around Maungatautari, excellent tho, and old Taupo Rd rocks)
4. The Te Miro loop Rd via Karapiro or Fencourt (slower route, no traffic, very twisty and narrow in parts, need to ride it a few times to get your head around it before doing anything silly :-)
