Since when does a near stationary drop require re-certification?
Something smells a little fishy...

it appears as if stationary as was so little damage, most insurance companys de reg everything that gets written off to cover them selves if there is more damage than can be seen from the eye and not a jig, if you knew anything about ex insurance you`d know fresh from rotten!

I've worked with a couple of ex-insurance fix ups, and know that they generally don't write a bike off for such minor damage...
We are looking at purchasing another 600 shortly, do you have full details of the assessors findings available for potential buyers to view?

well ive worked on about 30 insurance bikes the last few years and know that they do, i agree that i would think that this one though would have been repaired and not written off but if you have ever priced Honda OEM parts in nz you would know why this can be the case, lucky theres a place called america and the internet!
You should know seeing you have worked with damaged bikes that Assessors dont give there cert papers out the testing station keeps them, but i have the assessors contact details for anyone who wants to talk to him about it. If anyone one is a serious buyer my number is on trademe to discuss.

I'd strongly suggest any potential buyer have a full independent inspection done on this bike as the story doesn't quite add up in my opinion. Having seen the damage to many bikes that have been repaired rather than recorded as a total loss, I find it very hard to believe it would be written off over as little damage as the seller is currently disclosing.
For the record, if I were to look at purchasing another re-certed bike, I'd rather know all the hidden nasties so I'd probably get the previous owners details through carjam & have a chat with them

god your a loser! buying a re certed bike im my opinion is the safest way! at least when it is de reg`d it has to go through FULL complaince, its easy for someone to crash there own bike, fix it and say it hasnt been dropped as who is to know? when it needs to get re rego`d its not going back on the road with out the forks, wheels, frame, swingarm, discs etc etc getting checked that they are within oem spec limits, if it fails it doesnt get passed does it, any certifier isnt going to cut corners as if the rider dies on it and it gets investigated its going to come straight back on him. I am more than happy for any inspection to be done on this bike!

Calling a potential buyer a loser is a great way to put not only them but also other potential customers off of dealing with you, good work :2thumbsup
All I was stating is my personal opinion that I wouldn't take a sellers word as gospel and instead would do my own research before purchasing, and you go getting all defensive and calling people names, which makes it look as though you have something to hide...

Lay off of him you fucking loser, if it rides it's good. Haven't you got eyes or something? At least he actually MENTIONS it... he could have just said absolutely nothing. Besides, no newbie biker is going to be looking at buying a piece of machinery like this. He only wants to sell his machine... stop making it hard for him.
Always you time wasting cunts that troll but don't buy... anyone would be pissed off with your tripe, don't go blaming him. Shit to make your blood boil over honestly...
Good luck with the sale mate, that's a fantastic buy and someone will get a hell of a machine.

Well the loser part was more than justified i think, and it still stands. last i looked this was a TRADING forum not the "rant & rave" if you were at all a serious buyer you would have called my number listed and discussed, not started going on about "fishy"and "hidden nasties" when you have no idea nor looked into anything with this bike. i have nothing to hide and have said any inspection welcome and am more than happy for anyone to contact the repair certifier to discuss, but then again what was your contact number? i may as well forward everyones queries to you seeing you think you know more than an insurance agent, certifier, testing station staff & repairer combined.

I'm with LMT,
why was it written off with such minor damage?,(clutch lever, indicators& rearset bracket only parts replaced, only mark on it is a crack on lhs fairing as pictured)
it does sound suspect to write it off with maybe a grands worth of damage........

If it sounds suspect then what exactly are you worried about? Specifically state it at least... not just this pansy 'ahh naaaahhh sounds dodgy mate, wouldn't touch that shit mate' .
Cracked frame, bent forks or something? Well go there and fucking have a look then!!! It would have never passed compliance if there was anything mechanically wrong with it.
All you are doing here is putting off potential buyers... the guy probably has a fucking family to feed, show some consideration.

i work for a repair certifier and i can tell you if this bike has all the certs there is nothing wrong with it. All repair certifiers would have got factory specs and done countless measurements on this machine so since this bike has passed a repair cert and had a bike shop check out the forks etc and also had vtnz all over it IT WILL BE IN GREAT CONDITION. It is only the bikes that don't have documents to back up what the seller is saying that you need to worry about. If a bike is new or near new and you have the correct policy it will be written of by the insurance company my Hyosung was goin to be and it was only a broken mirror, scratch on screen and a few minor scratches on the muffler and that was a stationary fall in my garage. Good luck with the sale mate
