the wife went ape shit.
:eek::eek::eek:
Was watching this on trade me this morning. i was just watching... and some how purchased it.
1999
7000km
no foot pegs
has not run for some time
and the best bit...$685
Now what am i going to do with it?
This will slow down the FXR build as all my funds are gone... but I have a CG150... that will be sold soon.

You were just watching????????? I was just watching you bidding the hell outta it (got really tempted to put in a bid, but didn't want to be stuck with it) hahaha
You saw who asked the initial question - not sure what was up with the email, but I tried to send an email as well, with nada result (bounce).
Glad it actually existed, we were a bit concerned about that.
Oh, get the wife into bikes, Henk did and now when he plays in the garage, I just roll my eyes and watch something on TV (Masterchef seems to be good to get him out working on my bike hahaha)

Best thing you can do now is buy the wife some leathers and convince her buckets are a family outing (tui moment maybe?)
Going to be more and more multi bike teams by the looks of it. Or try and convince her that you need a dry bike wet bike setup. That worked well on the weekend.

What is the purpose of the additional linkage on the gear shifter ?

That quick shifter looks mean, looking forward to hearing how it works out................

It's the sensor for his flash ignition that will kill the spark when he changes so he doesn't have to drop the throttle and can do full noise shifts. It's also an expensive lump of kit hanging in the breeze to get smashed when we run him onto the grass through the sweeper.

Yep that would be me, waited a week to be be replied to / or rung and nothing,
Seems that they had something to hide.
Will be keen to see how good/bad this bike turns out to be, only 7000kms and sitting around, I am interested to find out more.

This is Aaron we are talking about, he has a history, I'm planning on waiting three months for him to get it going and bolt the missing parts on, he'll then get bored with it and sell it for half what he paid. Or so Grant has led me to believe.

yes time will tell.
The dude emailed me and seemd surprised in the interest for the bike.
Henk... this bike is not allowed to touch grass!!!! or you could make me cry.!
But wet and dry bike... yes.. seems like a good idea.
Hope to sell the maggot for $600... looks shit but it has a good motor which cost heaps...!
Oh and dont forget the the igntec igniotion also has 2 rev limiters... second is activated by the clutch switch for launch control.. set it at 9000rpm and hold the throttle wide open for starts...
:bleh::bleh::bleh:
Oh and I go to bucket racing to get away from the wife...!:msn-wink:

Oh and just to add... Dutchee.... as far as the wife knows I just placed ONE bid and won it..imagine that!!!
Now when she comes to watch... NO talking to her....:nono:
Henk
23rd September 2010, 21:25
Good thing she doesn't read this site isn't it?
You could always take my approach and hope she never makes it out of the B grade, and when even that gets too much you can pick up a flag and go and stand in the in feild.
Bonus is I never get stick for what I spend on the buckets, just tell her it's for her bike :)
Arronduke
23rd September 2010, 21:35
Got to agree... I have tried talking her in to in... she also thinks if she did take up buckets... she would beat me!!!
Henk.. your time will come... heee ..
have you watched the twist of a throttle video?
Henk
23rd September 2010, 21:40
Yep we watched the video.
Sounds like a challenge to me, get her along and whoever loses buys diner.
If you beat me I can always mutter about cheque book racers in range of your wifes hearing and you won't be allowed to come for a couple of months.

Just because I'm married to a "can't keep the mouth shut" doesn't mean I can't - unless I'm in shit-stirring mode, in which case, you betta watch out hahaha (nah, you should be all good, only like getting those I really know into the shit, but only minor shit, rather than divorce court).
Reason to get wife into your sport: spend money, own up, no drama. Or she gets really into it and comes home hoping she's not in trouble as she bought this "blah, blah" because it's cool or would look good on whatever bike, or just because. Helmet on, sorry, can't hear you, what was that? as you ride off. Forgotten by the time you get back.
Delete the listing from your trademe account, unless she doesn't go there, too. I keep having to check what the hell is on the watchlist and ask what we need whatever for and then how much I'm allowed to spend. I do also check what the hell "we've" just bought hahaha. thanks for the entertainment this morning, meant I started work 5 minutes late - good last minute bid their dude :) hahaha

says the guy with 2 dry bikes and a wet one :p
Dutchee

He's not allowed to ride my bike (he's crash test it already, and now it's only if I think something's wrong and need him to check it out). I think that's why I love my road bike, he doesn;t like it so I don't have to share.
Arron, looking forward to dropping you in the shit with the wife now :)
Just hope the original fxr turns up one day (hmm, you could just use the new one to get used to it, and bling it up later).

Sporty
the frame is powder coated along with the wheels.

That is bead blasted as well.
