Any one know of a chrome plater in Hamilton that doesn't cost the earth? I want to do a couple of solid slug wheels.

A year or 3 back I hunted for a chome plater to do wheels for work....there were only two that I found in the country willing to do it. One of 'em I heard horror stories about them having wheels for months and not touching them. The other was (I think) Gisborne chrome platers ( or electroplates or something) It's been a couple of years since we used 'em but they weren't cheap, but do an astounding job. The first one we had done was for an insurance company, so only did one, but it really made the others with the original plating look like crap. Spend the extra and have them do 'em, you won't be dissapointed.

There was a guy called Howard Smith years ago that used to do chrome work for the Fountain City Hot Rodders.
He was considered the very best then, but I am talking the late 70's early 80's here so he probably not doing it anymore.
Not much help really though eh?
He lived in Morrinsville buy the Fert Works.

+1. Beautiful, beautiful chrome. (and I would know, my family owned an electroplating business, I was born and raised with the stuff!)
